Marcellus Wiley is speaking out for the first time since his estranged wife Annemarie Wiley accused him of rape and domestic abuse.

“I completely and unequivocally deny these allegations, and I’m certain the truth will prevail,” the former NFL player wrote on X on July 6.

Annemarie Wiley files for divorce from Marcus Wiley

Marcellus’ post came shortly after Annemarie, 42, filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum also requested a restraining order, saying in court documents obtained by People that that Marcellus, 51, had “subjected me to a continuing and escalating pattern of physical violence, sexual abuse, verbal and emotional abuse, financial control, and intimidation.”

The couple share three children. Annemarie said that the latest incidence of violence in their marriage came during a family trip to Orlando over the Fourth of July weekend. She alleged that he shouted at her, threatened her with violence, and pushed their 10-year-old son. Marcellus was arrested by local police and later released on a $1,000 bond.

In his X post, Marcellus said he was “deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and concern for me and my itty bitties.”

He added that while he would like “to break down the truth and separate facts from fiction” he was limited in what he could say “because this is now a legal matter.”

“When I can speak freely, I absolutely will,” he wrote. “Until then, thank you for your patience, your prayers, and for continuing to stand with me.”

Multiple other women have accused the former NFL player of sexual assault

While Marcellus said in his post that his first concern was his children, Annemarie tells a different story. In her divorce filing, she said that her husband frequently abused her in front of their kids, including an incident during Christmas 2021 when he broke her thumb. She also said that Marcellus controlled her financial and that he’d stopped paying for their children’s education earlier this year, forcing her to drain their savings account to cover their tuition.

“His verbal and emotional abuse is constant, and his physical abuse occurs approximately once a month, and at times more frequently,” she shared. “I am afraid of Marcellus, and I fear for my own safety and for the safety of our children.”

Annemarie is not the first woman to accuse Marcellus of being violent. In April 2026, a former ESPN employee accused him of sexual assault, Rolling Stone reported. At least six other women have also made allegations against him. Some of the accusations date back to 1995, when he played football for Columbia University. One woman said Marcellus groomed her starting at age 13 when he was a player for the Buffalo Bills before raping her when she turned 18. He has denied all the allegations, characterizing them in a May 5 YouTube livestream as “blatant lies.”
