‘Disrespectful’ Guests at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding Could Face ‘Awkward Conversations’ With the Couple
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding took place on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in front of more than 1,000 guests.
Their big day was the most-anticipated celebrity event of the year, but since there was a strict no-phone policy and electronic non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) that had to be signed by everyone in attendance, Swift and Kelce were hoping to keep the details about their wedding between only those who were there. However, some guests have shared information publicly, which is likely not sitting well with the pop star and the NFL player.
Now, an expert is weighing in on what conversations Swift and Kelce may need to have with some in their circle over the next few days regarding the leaks.
Grant Harrold was King Charles’ butler for seven years. Harrold’s duties included that of valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. He also looked after Prince William and Prince Harry when they stayed at Highgrove House. Since leaving the royal household, Harrold has become one of the U.K.’s leading etiquette experts. In 2025, he published his first book, The Royal Butler, which became an Amazon bestseller. He regularly appears on TV offering commentary on current news stories.
Speaking on behalf of OLBG, Harrold told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Taylor and Travis asked their guests to keep details of their wedding day under wraps, even asking them to sign an NDA with the invitations. But unfortunately, that’s not what happened and we’ve seen lots of details emerge online.
“Interestingly, it’s not just their friends, with some of their family members even sharing details as they left the celebrations. I understand that it’s hard, as you’re excited and you want to tell everyone about the amazing thing you’ve just experienced. But the most important etiquette rule is to respect the wishes of your host.”
Harrold continued, “Whatever a couple asks of their guests, that’s what you do. It’s their day, their celebration. Therefore, as Taylor and Travis asked for guests to keep the details quiet, presumably so they can share details themselves, this should have been honored. Those who shared details have therefore not just breached and broken protocol, but they’ve also been very disrespectful.
“Realistically, I’m sure that Taylor and Travis knew there was a good chance this would happen, but I imagine they still won’t be overly happy about it. And it’s quite sad that it’s happening on the wedding weekend itself, when they are inevitably continuing their wedding celebrations privately.”
He added, “I think they will be fine with people saying they had a great day and giving vague details of the day, but I imagine those who shared photos and details of the specific aspects of the day may be in line for a few awkward conversations. Trust is very important to Taylor and Travis, and they’re understandably very keen to control the details around their wedding. Like all couples, they want to be the first to share photos and details — and rightly so.”
