‘Naked and Afraid’ All-Stars Get Shipwrecked in New Discovery Channel Survival Series: See the Full Cast
Naked and Afraid has come up with a new survival challenge, and these all-stars may not be prepared.
On Monday, Discovery Channel announced Naked and Afraid: Shipwrecked, a fresh twist on the popular franchise. In the new show, 12 all-stars who’ve appeared on previous versions of Naked and Afraid – including some with more than 100 days under their belts – embark on what they think will be a standard, 35-day group challenge. Instead, they’ll be dropped into open water in the dead of night. After being told to grab whatever supplies they can as they abandon ship, the stranded survivalists must make their way to shore, where they’ll then team up and fight to survive on a remote island.
“I’m about to die,” one survivalist declares as the group floats in the dark water.
“I think we’re in real trouble here,” another says.

Naked and Afraid: Shipwrecked premieres August 2 on Discovery Channel.
The new series was filmed on an mysterious and isolated island on the lost coast of the Philippines. The area has been dubbed the “Bermuda Triangle of Southeast Asia” because of its history of shipwrecks and strange disappearances.
As these 12 contestants explore their surroundings, they’ll discover both hazards and opportunities. The jungle is dense and rich with resources, and it hides remnants of those who’ve been their before. The four, three-person teams will work to build shelter and scavenge tools from the wreckage while also contending with tiger and hammerhead sharks, stingrays, sea snakes, and poisonous jellyfish.
Each team has one piece of the challenge match. To complete their journey, they’ll have to connect with the other groups and combine the pieces so that they can rescue themselves from the island on day 35.

“I CAN’T WAIT FOR EVERYONE TO SEE THIS,” Yates commented on Instagram after the show was announced.
“It’s go time,” declared French, who’s appeared on both Naked and Afraid as well as the spinoffs Last One Standing and Castaways.
Naked and Afraid: Shipwrecked premieres Sunday, August 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel.
