Taylor Swift Slammed for Inviting 1 A-List Actor to Her Wedding
Taylor Swift’s wedding had close to 1,000 guests, with a number of them being prominent actors, musicians, and sports stars. Swift reportedly did not have a close personal relationship with all of her guests. Because of this, she has faced some criticism from people who made the cut. Swift’s decision to extend an invite to Brad Pitt has received particular backlash.
People criticized Taylor Swift for inviting one actor to her wedding
While some of Swift’s celebrity guests were her close friends, others have raised eyebrows. Pitt, for example, doesn’t seem like a natural choice for the wedding guest list. People have criticized her decision to invite him due to the allegations of domestic violence against him. His former wife, Angelina Jolie, claimed Pitt attacked her and their children while on a flight. Because of this, Swift’s decision to invite him has sparked criticism.
“Brad Pitt? Repulsive,” wrote one Reddit user.
“Gross, gross, gross to invite a domestic abuser to your wedding,” wrote another person. “Says a lot about you as a person.”
Many people noted that Swift did not invite her former friend Blake Lively, but extended an invite to Pitt.
“Having Brad Pitt AND not inviting Blake Lively definitely sends… a message,” wrote one person.
Still, people noted that Swift has long been a fan of Pitt.
“Taylor has been a fan of Brad Pitt before she started her career,” one person wrote. “Ellen surprised her with having Brad Pitt on the show to meet her. She also wrote a song Til Brad Pitt Comes Along back in 2005ish. So, that’s just the context about how they know each other and how she has been a fan for many years. I agree it’s disappointing and not a good look that she is still friends/a fan all these years later after everything that has happened.”

Others noted that Travis Kelce might have been the one who invited Pitt. He was a guest on his podcast in 2025. On it, Pitt discussed the new generation of actors.
“I like watching what the new generations are coming in with,” he said on the New Heights podcast. “I like to see what they’re up against and also the way they negotiate their way through it. I feel they enjoy it more. We were a little more uptight — and had to be — about acting. You didn’t sell out. You didn’t sell out. You didn’t sell out. And now, it’s this thing of, ‘Hey, man, we can be artists in many different arenas. So let’s do it, and let’s enjoy it.'”

Many of his children have cut ties with him
While Swift is seemingly in contact with Pitt, the majority of his children are not. Shiloh, Maddox, and Zahara legally filed to drop his last name. The couple’s daughter, Vivienne, recently made her onstage debut as Vivienne Jolie, and her brother graduated as Knox Jolie.
Pitt reportedly has virtually no contact with his children.
