Candace Owens’ Awkward Kim Kardashian Run-In At Kanye West’s Chicago Concert Takes An Unexpected Turn
Candace Owens recently attended her friend Kanye West’s concert in Chicago. While she expected to have a good time, the evening took an unexpected turn when she crossed paths with Kim Kardashian. The political commentator revealed that she was only hoping to not have an awkward concert experience.
Owens, who often took to the stage to criticize the Kardashian family, had an awkward moment right before she went to see West perform. The conspiracy theorist spoke about the incident in the latest episode of her podcast. She revealed that she was in town to see the rapper’s awaited homecoming show in Chicago and saw his ex-wife in the lobby.
The encounter immediately made her recollect everything she had publicly said about the SKIMS founder in the past. She said, “I’m thinking, oh no, oh my, she’s going to this concert, and you know I’ve said some things about Kim.” Moreover, it was the first time she had seen the 45-year-old in person since Kardashian’s separation from Ye in 2021.
The two women then looked at each other from across the lobby. Owens compared the moment to a viral meme that could have perfectly captured the energy between her and Kardashian. The only difference between the meme and her experience was the absence of fireworks.
Her first thought after the run-in was that she could be stuck with the socialite in a viewing box at the concert. The two women did not eventually meet, as the mother-of-four was there to support her daughter, North West. The teenager was set to debut her solo show later that night.
However, the incident prompted Owens to say that there were ‘no hard feelings’ between her and Kardashian. She also sent her love to Kardashian and her family.
Owens had previously made clear that she was never on Kardashian’s side. She called out the famous family for allegedly “planting stories” about her in the media. According to Newsweek, the political commentator referred to her and West’s controversial statement at Paris Fashion Week in 2022.
At the time, Owens took to her Instagram stories to slam the Kardashians, especially the 45-year-old. She wrote, “I am not Hollywood. I do not play these games. I took on Black Lives Matter, and you do not want me to turn my attention to you, @KimKardashian.” She went on to claim that she did not persuade West for their joint statement.
“I respect you as a mother, and I hope your family gets back together. In fact, I will pray for it. Your kids are beautiful and I above anyone else know how family can be difficult,” the political commentator added. Owens appeared to tone down her claims and shared that Kardashian was always nice to her. She then requested, “Please do not insert my friendship with Ye into the narrative.”

Meanwhile, Kardashian and West reportedly kept their distance during their daughter’s concert. According to Page Six, a video of the former couple went viral from the Chicago concert in which they stood in opposite balconies. While they appeared to put their differences aside, they remained at the two ends of the venue.
