Farrah Abraham Reveals Brutal Aftermath of Major Jaw Surgery, Showing Swollen Face and Stitches
Farrah Abraham recently went under the knife, but not for another cosmetic procedure. The reality TV star had her jaw condition treated, which left her with a swollen face and a wired mouth. She recently revealed what the aftermath of the medical procedure looks like.
According to TMZ, Abraham recently gave her fans a closer look at her post-surgery face. The 16 and Pregnant star had swollen cheeks and blood stains on her pillow in the aftermath of her surgery. Her pictures showed extensive stitches on the sides of her face, near her ears and neck.
She showcased her post-surgery look on a TikTok live shared by her daughter, Sophia Abraham. The 35-year-old held a sign that read, “I had surgery and can’t talk” to communicate with her fans. Her swollen face caught everyone’s attention. She also thanked her well-wishers with the note, “Thank you for the gifts.”
Abraham revealed that she got double disc jaw surgery and custom jaws implanted for her face. She could not speak as her mouth was wired shut. She joked that she felt like Frankenstein. Despite her mouth being shut with screws in her gums, she hoped to get some movement back soon. The procedure also left her with hearing loss in her right ear.
The 35-year-old shared that she suffered the nerve damage after an alleged s—– a——. She claimed that Dominic Foppoli, whom she is suing for the same, was responsible for her condition. While she did not go into further detail, she revealed that she opted for physical therapy and even had jaw and skull scans done.
Foppoli denied the claims by Abraham in the lawsuit. His lawyers argued that his interaction with Abraham was consensual; moreover, they blamed the Teen Mom star for taking it as an opportunity for a rather planned surgery.
They said, “Mr. Foppoli denies wrongdoing and indicates the encounter with Farrah was consensual. It is more likely that Farrah is taking the opportunity to have elective surgery and is blaming it on my client in order to make him pay for it.” Foppoli is not facing any criminal charges at the moment in connection with Abraham’s allegation.
According to Radar Online, the reality TV star teased her surgery months in advance on the Pillow Talk podcast. She told host Ryan Pownall at the time, “I’m getting ready for a really big surgery, actually.”
She made it clear that the surgery was not a cosmetic procedure but treatment for a medical condition. Abraham said, “I don’t want any more surgeries, but there’s like a degenerative disc disease in my jaw. So if you could imagine, I can’t, you know, use my jaw. And, like, I can’t open my mouth normally.”
She did not provide much detail on which type of surgery she underwent for temporomandibular joint disorder. It involves the deterioration of the joint structure on the sides of the mouth. Its end-stage damage can prevent a person from opening their mouth and even cause chronic pain.
The grueling procedure has left Abraham on a liquid diet. She is expected to be in recovery for months. The mother of one cannot speak at the moment but is keeping her fans updated via social media.
