Kim Kardashian Exposes the Brutal Reality of Co-Parenting With Kanye West
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s post-divorce relationship has had its share of challenges. After their separation, the former couple experienced a public fallout when the rapper tried to win her back. Although both have moved on romantically, Kardashian recently opened up about the ‘burden’ of co-parenting their four children with West.
The reality TV star recently opened up about little secrets from her life in her authorized biography, Citizen Kim, by Jonathan Van Meter. According to Us Weekly, she admitted, “Oh, I worry about [Kanye] all day.” The SKIMS founder added that she will “never not worry about him,” as he is the father of her children.
Kardashian continued, “And that’s a big burden of having kids with someone who you don’t necessarily get along with.” Co-parenting with West also means that she has to forget “all the negative things” that happened in the past. The 46-year-old also noted how she does everything in her power to keep her kids away from knowing the dynamics of their parents.
Despite their messy and public divorce, she noted that she is able to co-parent with Ye without much conflict. “It’s been pretty smooth for a while. I guess because we don’t talk that much,” Kardashian said. Whenever they see each other, they greet with a hug. Moreover, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star also shares a close bond with West’s family.
She has an open-door policy for all his family members. They are welcome to join her for dinner whenever they are in town. Moreover, they could meet her kids as much as they want and even take them out if they wish to. “I encourage the relationship with their dad so much,” the mother of four noted.
However, maintaining the relationship between her kids and their father also means that she has to lie from time to time. Kardashian noted that she often hides Ye’s whereabouts and tells her kids that he is traveling. She said she often communicates with West through his wife, Bianca Censori, or his manager.
The SKIMS founder revealed that she invites West to her home all the time to spend more time with their children. She also offers to leave the house to him. “Last Christmas, I said, ‘Sleep over on Christmas Eve. Bring your girlfriend.’ I’m easy! ‘Let’s all do Christmas together,” she revealed.
The beauty mogul is adamant about doing the same again this year. She noted that she would sweep everything under the rug and forget everything he had said about her.
Kardashian previously admitted she needs help raising her kids on her own. According to the Sunday Times, she revealed that it is not easy for her to balance her career and home together. Therefore, she relies on her nannies to look after them. How many nannies does the reality TV star need? A handful.
She has hired five nannies to help her with her children. While one of them is on duty, the other four are on rotation to be with her kids all the time. “I think I am an intermediate-strict parent,” Kardashian said, explaining her parenting tactics. She called herself “patient and loving,” adding that her kids still sleep in bed with her.
