Sydney Sweeney Looks Unrecognizable as She Ditches Her Signature Blonde Hair for a Dramatic Brunette Makeover
Sydney Sweeney is making various life-changing decisions at the moment. The actress, who is dating Scooter Braun, has been meeting with rabbis with alleged intentions of converting to Judaism. While she plans to adopt a different religion, she recently debuted a brunette hairstyle that left her fans amazed.
The Housemaid star recently shared a carousel of pictures from her time at Pacific Park. In the photos, she could be seen exploring different rides, foods, and shops at the amusement park with a friend. She wore a white T-shirt with a Santa Monica graphic and paired it with denim shorts. The Euphoria star kept her look simple with white sneakers and black goggles.
However, it was her hair that caught everyone’s attention, as it made her look unrecognizable. Sweeney ditched her blonde locks to opt for a short, dark wig with full bangs. The 29-year-old confirmed in the caption that she did not dye her hair black. Instead, it was her friend who asked her to put on a wig.
She wrote, “When your bestie shows up and says, ‘Here, put this wig on.’” Her fans were elated to see her changed look, with one of them writing, “love this idea! Glad to see you out and about without all the hassle.” A second fan wrote, “I didn’t even recognise her,” while another penned, “She’s so pretty. As a blonde and as [a] brunette.” Some fans also told the actress that she looked a lot like Hannah Montana.
According to Harper’s Bazaar, Sweeney is a natural brunette. She revealed in 2024 that she had to dye her hair blonde to play Cassie. Speaking of the impact of constantly changing her hair color, she revealed that it “fried” her locks. “I went blonde for Cassie. Then, I dyed my hair red for another role, [in National Anthem], but I had to go right back to blonde. It fried my hair,” Sweeney shared.
She continued, “I was the girl in the shower pulling hair out like cotton candy and crying my eyes out.” At this point, she realized she needed to make her natural hair as healthy as possible. This also required her to use wigs instead of dyeing her hair again. “I’m on a hair care journey right now, and I feel like I’m the most me when it’s just naturally air-dried and not fried with heat. I’ve been learning a lot about my hair,” the actress added.
Meanwhile, Sweeney is getting serious with Braun after dating him for a year. According to Page Six, the couple is planning to grow their family and have kids. This is why she is seriously considering converting to Judaism. An insider said, “The couple is discussing having their own family, and Scooter feels strongly on the subject.”
A spy also spotted the actress attending Rosh Hashanah services at Temple Sholom in Connecticut. “They sat in the back,” the source said. The Christy star also met with two rabbis to move forward with the conversion process. The process will reportedly take one to four years.
The conversion may not be easy for her, as she will have to rigorously study a new religion. Moreover, she will also have to find a rabbi to sponsor her.
