Olivia O’Brien Slams Pete Davidson in Public Dispute
When you’ve dated as many people as Pete Davidson has, it’s almost inevitable that at least one ex isn’t a fan. Olivia O’Brien has now made her distaste for him very public. The singer made headlines for calling Davidson an “absolute joke of a human being” after his comments about female influencers went viral. Let’s break down what happened.
Pete Davidson went viral for his take on internet culture
Davidson has never shied away from sharing his opinions. Last year, he openly discussed dating apps and the loneliness epidemic. More recently, he weighed in on internet culture, and his comments ruffled more than a few feathers. In a recent interview for Variety’s Ask a Local series, he suggested that women making “get ready with me” videos do essentially nothing to earn their fame and money, and he called viral TikTok dance trends “insane and lame.”
The remarks drew pushback from creators, including OnlyFans star Sophie Rain. Business and culture creator Rachel Lowenstein posted a breakdown arguing that the rant revealed more about Davidson’s attitude toward women than about influencer culture. She pointed out that he singled out “girls” and the videos they make while saying nothing about male streamers or podcasters. She also argued that Davidson’s own fame owes more to the famous women he has dated than to his comedy.
Olivia O’Brien called Davidson out
As critics piled on, O’Brien took the opportunity to share her own experience with Davidson. Commenting on Lowenstein’s post, she wrote that she was dating Davidson in 2020 and learned the relationship was over when she saw on the Daily Mail’s Snapchat channel that he had gone public with a more famous woman. She called him an “absolute joke of a human being.”
She added a sarcastic follow-up, saying she wasn’t sure how he’d found the time, given that the two were texting around the clock and falling asleep on FaceTime when they weren’t together. She signed off with a pointed “busy boy!”
The comment was pinned on Lowenstein’s post and racked up thousands of likes. It’s not the first time Davidson has faced criticism from an ex. Elsie Hewitt, with whom he shares his only child, has made headlines in recent months for saying she has been raising their daughter, Scottie, largely on her own. Still, few of his exes have called him out as bluntly as O’Brien.
Davidson hasn’t responded to O’Brien’s comment yet, but he may. In 2022, after O’Brien said on a podcast that she had briefly dated him, his representative denied it, saying the two were only friends who had hung out a few times. O’Brien later walked back her own remarks, and her comments about Davidson at the time were far more positive.
Who is Pete Davidson dating now?
Davidson’s love life remains complicated. He went public with model and actress Elsie Hewitt in March 2025, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Scottie Rose, in December 2025. They split in May 2026, about five months later.
In early August, Davidson was spotted in Brooklyn with Sarah Jane Nader, the 23-year-old Love Thy Nader star and younger sister of model Brooks Nader. TMZ reported that the two shared a private dinner with “first date energy,” but a source quickly told the outlet they were just friends. He hasn’t gone public with anyone yet, though it may only be a matter of time. Davidson rarely stays single for long.
