Pauly D Didn’t Tell The ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast He Was Proposing
The cast of Jersey Shore has spent more than a decade and a half celebrating one another’s milestones and operating as a family that happens to film together. Still, there are some things they keep secret, even from each other. At least, Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio kept one major decision to himself: The DJ and reality TV star didn’t tell anyone in the cast that he was planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Nikki Hall. They found out along with the rest of the world.

Pauly D and Nikki have been together for years, but his mid-set proposal still came as a surprise. The 46-year-old popped the question during his set at Omnia Dayclub at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. A video shared on social media shows him pulling Nikki into the crowd to dance. That part wasn’t unusual, since the couple has danced together at plenty of his gigs. The shock came when the music stopped and Pauly D dropped to one knee.
Nikki, 34, was visibly stunned and burst into tears before nodding yes. Pauly D announced her answer to the crowd over the microphone, and the couple later shared the moment in a joint Instagram post. Nikki called it “the easiest YES I’ve ever said,” while Pauly D commented, “She said yesssssss!!!!!”

Pauly D may have spent years in front of the cameras with his Jersey Shore family, but he kept this one off their radar. His roommates took to Instagram to react to the couple’s news like everyone else. Then, on Oct. 1, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi sat down with MuchMusic and confirmed it.
She said the cast learned Pauly D and Nikki were engaged only when the announcement went live on social media. He didn’t fill them in ahead of time, and none of them had a clue what he was planning. Still, she said she’s proud of him for making the big move and thrilled for the couple.
It’s a fitting twist for a franchise whose stars have a history of springing engagement news on one another. Years ago, Pauly D admitted the cast had been caught off guard when Jenni “JWoww” Farley’s engagement to Zack Carpinello happened off camera.
How did Pauly D and Nikki Hall meet?
Pauly D and Nikki met in 2019 on MTV’s Double Shot at Love, where she made it to the final two before Pauly D shocked viewers by leaving without choosing anyone. They reconnected during the show’s second season and have been together since 2020.
Nikki has since become a fixture on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, and she has been open about wanting more from her longtime partner. On an episode of the most recent season, she told the cast the couple hadn’t had an actual conversation about getting married, while making clear she was ready.
With the proposal done, fans are eager to hear about wedding plans. No date has been set yet. According to an unnamed source who spoke to In Touch, the couple is weighing Las Vegas or Jamaica as a venue, the whole cast will be invited, and the ceremony could end up on camera.
