Pete Davidson Debuts New Face Tattoo: Why Did He Remove His Other Tattoos?
At one point, Pete Davidson was covered in hundreds of tattoos. In 2020, however, he began the long process of removing the ink that covered his body. While he has succeeded in removing many of the tattoos on his body, he recently debuted new ink dedicated to his new daughter. Why did he choose to remove the other designs?

Davidson and his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, recently welcomed their first child. They named their daughter Scottie as a tribute to Davidson’s late father, Scott Matthew Davidson.
“We always knew that was the one we were going to come back to, because it was the most meaningful,” Hewitt told Elite Daily. “It’s also so cute.”
In honor of his daughter, Davidson recently debuted a new tattoo next to his ear. It reads “Scottie” in vertical text.

While Davidson has new ink, many of the tattoos that once decorated his arms are gone. In 2020, he began the long process of removing them because he said they remind him of a “sad person that was very unsure.”
“I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up,” he told Variety. “So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain. When I look in the mirror, I don’t want the reminder of ‘Oh yeah, you were a f***ing drug addict. Like, that’s why you have SpongeBob smoking a joint on your back.’”
Davidson had roughly 200 tattoos. As each requires 10-12 sessions to remove, it could take Davidson over a decade to erase all of them. He admitted that the process isn’t fun.
“It’s like putting your arm on a grill and burning off a layer,” he said. “It sucks, I’m not gonna lie.”
He said his friends have shared parenting advice with him
Davidson is a first-time parent. Ahead of Scottie’s birth, he said he was looking forward to becoming a father.
“I’m very lucky and very, very happy,” he told E! News.
He said he wanted to be “able to take care of something and show it the childhood I didn’t have. I assume you just try to give them what you didn’t have, and what you didn’t like, not do it.”
He said he has received helpful advice from many of his friends who are already parents.
“Everybody’s just been super excited for me, because they know it’s been my dream,” he said. “They all just have been like, ‘You’re going to be great at this. It’s the best thing you’ll ever do in your life.’ [Adam] Sandler gave me some great advice.”
He said he appreciated the support.
“It’s been really nice that everyone’s super excited,” he said. “When you do something, when we do anything, you want everyone to be excited, especially having a child.”
