After the shocking announcement that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving back to the U.K., there have been plenty of questions from fans and royal watchers.

One of the biggest questions is why they want to return to the country six and a half years after saying they wanted to carve new paths for themselves in America. A second question is whether the Sussexes’ move back will bring about a reconciliation with the couple and the rest of the royal family. And another question is: where will they live and will it be in a royal residence?

While Meghan and Harry have not commented on the specifics of why they are returning to the U.K., and it remains to be seen if a reconciliation is in the cards, it has been reported that the Sussex family will not live in a residence provided by King Charles.

According to Express, “The king will not provide the duke and duchess with any type of accommodation, and there are no plans for any taxpayer-funded armed police protection. The Sussexes are keeping their homes in Montecito, California, and in Portugal, while the duchess will continue to run her lifestyle brand, As Ever, from their new base.”

So just where in the U.K. will that new base be?

The Daily Mail reported that “Meghan privately visited two potential schools in the Cotswolds region for Archie and Lilibet during their visit here — and they had already earmarked a potential home belonging to a celebrity.”

While the claim about their new home in the Cotswolds has not been confirmed, it has led to plenty of speculation about which celebrity-owned house Harry and Meghan could be moving into.

Some believe it could be Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s 43-acre Kitesbridge Farm estate. The ex-talk show host and the former actress had listed their property before deciding to keep it and split time between there and Montecito.

DeGeneres and de Rossi’s Cotswolds residence is certainly fit for royalty. The glass-walled mansion is behind high hedges and a gated entrance that leads to a long driveway for privacy. On the property are three structures–a massive main house and two guest cottages. Some of the home’s amenities include a swimming pool, a home gym, horse stables, and a converted barn pub.

Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace have commented on the Sussexes’ announcement.
