How Princess Beatrice Will Celebrate Her Birthday Amid Divorce Rumors
Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor‘s daughters’ names have been in the news lately for different reasons.
Princess Eugenie just welcomed her third child with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, while Princess Beatrice has dealt with rumors that her marriage to Edoardo “Edo” Mapelli Mozzi is on the rocks and a divorce could be coming. Beatrice’s whereabouts were questioned as well after she had not been photographed in public since her cousin, Peter Phillips’ wedding on June 6.
After several publications noted that Edo, who is a property developer, has been away from home a lot and traveling overseas for work since January, a friend of the couple told Hello! “Bea and Edo are navigating are their busy jobs and looking after their children! They’ve both had recent stints working abroad and like so many working parents, have been balancing work with looking after the kids. Recent reports that things aren’t good between them are not true at all. Things are great between them and the only distance between them recently has been physical distance because of work!”
Now, as Beatrice celebrates her 38th birthday, someone who used to work for the royal family is sharing how they believe the princess will spend her big day this year amid all the noise about her personal life.
Grant Harrold was King Charles’ butler for seven years. During his time working for the monarch, Harrold’s duties also included valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. He provided occasional service for other family members as well, including the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. In addition, Harrold looked after Prince William, Catherine, and Prince Harry as well when they stayed at Highgrove House.
Since leaving the royal household, Harrold has become one of the U.K.’s leading etiquette experts. In 2025, he published his first book, The Royal Butler, which became an Amazon bestseller. He regularly appears on TV offering his commentary on both current and historic royal news stories.
Speaking on behalf of Heart Bingo Online, Harrold told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that in terms of birthday plans and presents, Princess Beatrice will likely spend the day with her loved ones, saying, “It’s possible that her parents might be around. Beatrice will probably be with her own family. Once again, like Meghan [Markle], gifts could be things for the home and the garden or hand-me-downs from Queen Elizabeth II.
“That’s completely possible. When I worked at Highgrove, I remember Prince Harry and William used to go away together with Beatrice and have family occasions. But Beatrice never visited Highgrove during her younger years.”
The former royal employee was also asked about Beatrice’s relationship with the king and if it appears to be how it always was, despite the fallout with the princess’s parents over their association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Harrold opined, “Nothing has changed drastically. Her relationship with him has stayed the same, and she still gets invited to royal events, and I don’t see that changing in the future.”
