Libra season is here! 

Libras (September 23 to October 22) are the fair-minded, diplomatic charmers of the Zodiac. Ruled by the planet Venus and represented by the scales, people with this sign are skilled mediators with a commitment to justice, while also appreciating the finer things in life and displaying a natural grace and ease in social settings. 

When those classic Libra qualities manifest themselves in a Real Housewife, the results can be very interesting. Real Housewives stars with this sign can find themselves playing the peacemaker and mediating conflict between their co-stars. And they look great on the TV, thanks to their commitment to aesthetic beauty (though they may sometimes come off as shallow). Where things can get dicey is when they lean into their less-great Libra characteristics, including an tendency to avoid conflict or be indecisive. In their effort to skirt drama, they can end up stirring the spot, as we’ve seen with some of these five Real Housewives stars who are Libras. 

Whitney Rose 

Whitney Rose (born September 30) embodies Libra’s commitment to glamour and beauty. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star’s storylines often center around the skincare line she created, Wild Rose Beauty. She also embraces her sign’s role as a peacekeeper, for better or worse. While she may claim to be trying to smooth over conflict with the other RHOSLC ladies, she’s developed a reputation as a pot-stirrer by causing drama among her co-stars and then trying to play the innocent.

Given their commitment to justice, it’s no surprise that Libras are well-represented in the legal field. Before she became a Bravo star on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jackie Goldschneider (born October 2) was a practicing lawyer in New York City. While she no longer works as an attorney, Jackie hasn’t abandoned the values that pointed her toward that career, bringing a classic, principled Libra approach during her time on RHONJ. At times, she sought to create harmony among that famously fractious New Jersey ladies, even squashing her own long-term beef with Teresa Giudice, saying that she had grown to see “the value in a peaceful life.”

Kelly Dodd

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Kelly Dodd (born September 26) exhibits Libra’s extroverted charm and social magnetism. While she has plenty of her Air sign’s quick wit and fluid adaptability in social situations, she wasn’t as harmony-seeking as some people with this sign during her time on the show. During Kelly’s RHOC stint, she was notorious for her volatility, displaying Libra’s desire to strike back whenever they feel the scales have been tipped out of balance. 

Alex McCord 

Alex McCord from The Real Housewives of New York City (born October 1) displayed her love of high fashion, art, and high-class, curated status during her time on the Bravo show – all quintessential traits for the Venus-ruled Libra. She also showed her sign’s natural tendency to avoid conflict, even breaking out in hives when she was faced with a particularly stressful or discomforting situation with her castmates.
