RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Ross Mathews has taken over tell-all hosting duties for 90 Day: The Single Life Season 5. He comes to the stage with the knowledge of a true superfan, he told podcast host Sarah Fraser.

“I have put in the hours to talk about 90 Day,” he said during a recent appearance on The Sarah Fraser Show. “I started in season 1 … season 2 was when I locked in hardcore.”

“I love the show. I love the franchise,” he said, adding that he “never shut[s] up about it, like, on my social media.”

TLC took noted of his enthusiasm and reached out to offer him the gig. He accepted immediately, no questions asked.

“I do not know what I got paid to do it. I do not care. I just wanted to do it,” he said.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ judge took his tell-all hosting duties ‘seriously’

Mathews came into the tell-all a bona fide 90 Day expert, and he knew that he wanted to give the viewers what they were craving.

“I really wanted to do a good job on the tell-all,” he said. “I really took it seriously. Because I know what it means to sit there as a super-fan. So it makes me so happy to know that it’s being received well.”

With his deep knowledge of every 90 Day season, Mathews knows what topics to cover. That includes getting into the why of Cortney Reardanz’s baffling relationship with Colt Johson and Jamal Menzies’ feelings about learning that his mother had two children she gave up for adoption.

“Not a detail is missed,” he said. “You should see me with the notebook of notes that I’m taking while I’m watching the show.”

Mathews added that he hoped that fans were satisfied with the job he did as host.

“I hope so. Listen, if I don’t [satisfy people], I’ll get it. I’ll understand it and I’ll listen and learn from it,” he said. “But I really hope that people see that I sat in that chair as a fan … it would bum me out if people thought I did a bad job.”

The 90 Day: The Single Life Season 5 tell-all continues on Monday, May 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
