Meghan Markle has had a few “rude” moments caught on camera. They even had viewers questioning her behavior. So, the first clip goes back to November 2023. Markle and Prince Harry attended the Vancouver Canucks’ Autism Acceptance Night at Rogers Arena. The Canucks faced the San Jose Sharks that evening.

Before the game, local singer Miriah Reitmeier took the mic for O Canada. Then a clip from the night took off online. It showed Markle smiling and trying to hold back a laugh as Reitmeier sang. Reitmeier has spoken publicly about being autistic.

Harry, meanwhile, stood beside her looking far more serious. Her next controversial moment was at Wimbledon. In July 2019, Markle took her seat at Court One to support her friend Serena Williams against Slovenia’s Kaja Juvan. She watched from the stands alongside Genevieve Hillis and Lindsay Roth.

Days later, media consultant Sally Jones told The Daily Telegraph that a royal protection officer came up to her. It was when she was taking photos of the match. “Would you not take photographs of the Duchess? She’s here in a private capacity,” Jones recalled being told.

Jones said she hadn’t even realized Markle was sitting nearby. Photos also showed several empty seats around the Duchess and her friends. Inside Edition reported that Markle had “apparently demanded” a photo ban. Markle’s appearance at the 2018 British Fashion Awards also caught online flak.

She showed up at London’s Royal Albert Hall to hand Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller the Womenswear Designer of the Year award. Keller was also the woman behind Markle’s wedding dress. Rosamund Pike had originally been billed to present the award. She first took the stage and teased a “special guest.” That was when Markle walked out. She drew “audible gasps” from the crowd.

It was supposed to be a secret. Even Keller had no clue Markle would be the one presenting her award. TIME, Vogue, and Vanity Fair also reported that Markle had “stolen the show.” The latest moment was from episode two of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan.

In it, Markle was cooking with Mindy Kaling. During their conversation, Kaling referred to her friend as “Meghan Markle.” Markle quickly corrected her. “It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying Meghan Markle,” she said.

“You know I’m Sussex now?” Markle then explained, “You have kids and you go, ‘No, I should share my name with my children.’ I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go, ‘This is our family name, our little family name.’”

However, Kaling later brushed off the reaction herself. On The View, she said, “You know, I had a great time.” The actress added, “We were making sandwiches,” before TikTok users began dissecting her facial expressions. “I honestly didn’t even remember, ’cause we shot it, like, nine months ago,” she said.
