Meghan Markle had reportedly reached a “breaking point.” According to the source, Markle wants to take Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to a “secure and discreet” hotel without Prince Harry.

“Meghan’s No. 1 priority is protecting her kids. She’s even called lawyers about it,” the unnamed source told RadarOnline. The insider also claimed, “She didn’t even want to be in the U.K. to begin with, so when she sensed danger, she bolted – and Harry was blindsided.”

Harry and Markle moved to Montecito, California, in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties. Their departure became known as Megxit. Since then, they’ve paid for private security while challenging the loss of taxpayer-funded police protection in Britain.

Harry’s security arrangements are now under review. According to ITV News, the committee responsible for royal protection would review his security. Meanwhile, Markle would receive a separate review. RadarOnline also claimed Harry expected returning to Britain to make getting police protection easier.

“He feels like such a fool,” the source claimed. “He thought they’d return to the U.K. and getting security would be a cinch. Not so. He hasn’t gotten the protection he expected. He’s humiliated and furious.”

The outlet also linked Markle’s alleged hotel plans to rumors about Harry’s personal life. It claimed that Harry developed feelings for an “age-appropriate” mystery woman in the Santa Barbara area. It also alleged Markle discovered the supposed affair through text messages.

“But it’s also very telling that she would plan to run off to a hotel without Harry – especially right after he found himself at the center of a cheating scandal. It appears their marriage is at the breaking point,” the insider claimed.

The source added, “Who knows how much that figured into Meghan’s decision to leave?” The cheating allegations had surfaced earlier, too. On July 23, royal commentator Lady Colin Campbell made the claims on The Nerve podcast.

Campbell alleged that Markle found text messages on Harry’s phone and suspected an affair with a woman who lived in Montecito, California. She also claimed the woman was close to Harry’s age.

The tipster added,  “The palace is on high alert, bracing for an unprecedented toxic war.” The couple’s children’s school arrangements have also drawn attention. Harry and Markle withdrew Archie and Lilibet from their first U.K. school after just two days.

Their spokesperson confirmed the decision followed discussions with the family’s security team. According to the BBC, security staff had concerns about the school commute and heavy traffic. The family later enrolled them at another school.

Harry discussed the family’s return during a September 26 interview with Canadian broadcaster CTV. “It’s been great to be back on British soil,” he said. “The kids are happy in school and it gives me a chance to really focus on Invictus in Birmingham.”
