Prince William reportedly thinks Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t “even last another six months” in the U.K. A source told Closer that the Prince of Wales expects the Sussexes to return to their Montecito home. He also reportedly believes, “They can’t leave soon enough.”

“He’s counting on them giving up and moving back to America as soon as they realize they can’t just bulldoze their way into getting everything they want,” the tipster said. Harry, however, reportedly wants to stay in Britain.

The insider added that William knows Harry has “been homesick the past six years, but ultimately it’s going to be Meghan who has the final say. William says he doesn’t see her sticking it out longer than a few months.”

The source continued, “He’s just waiting for the inevitable news that they’re heading back to America.” William is reportedly staying out of Harry and Markle’s security fight. “So, he’s giving that a wide berth and counting on the powers that be to do the right thing,” the insider noted.

The latest claims came as more comment emerged about the brothers’ relationship. Express editor Mark Dolan said unnamed insiders told him that “William effing hates his brother.” Dolan described their relationship as “worse than ever.” He said William sees the dispute as more than a private family fight.

Dolan called it “existential for the family.” He also pointed to William’s “great sense of public duty” and “loyalty to the crown.” A Closer source made a similar claim about William’s feelings. The insider called Harry “self-serving and manipulative.” William allegedly believes Harry has proved “completely disloyal and should be exiled.”

Harry and Markle returned to Britain with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet for an extended stay. But RAVEC continues to review their security. Harry lost his automatic state-funded police protection after he and Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020. They then moved to California.

The Duke challenged the decision through the U.K. courts. But his attempts to overturn it failed. Now, their latest return to Britain has triggered a fresh review, which could affect their security arrangements. The children have already faced security concerns, too.

Archie and Lilibet started at a British school last month. Harry and Markle, however, pulled them out after two days. Security concerns reportedly centered on their daily travel. Later, international photographers were also reportedly spotted near the children’s new school.

According to the Daily Mail, the security decision could affect the Sussexes’ plans. Royal commentator Richard Eden has also hit back at the couple’s reported position. He described their alleged ultimatum as “akin to blackmail.” He added,

“The implications of this are massive because if they get it, what that then means is Harry and Meghan can come and go, and they’ll still be getting police protection.” Eden also questioned what could happen if they received protection while staying in America. He argued that “hard-pressed taxpayers” could then end up paying for their security.
