‘They Are Not on the Same Page’: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Hit Another UK Roadblock as One Plan Exposes Growing Differences
Prince Harry reportedly wants to spend Christmas in the U.K. Meghan Markle, though, reportedly wants to head back to California. A HeatWorld source said, “With the kids in school, they can’t keep bouncing between California and the U.K. whenever they feel like it.” So, “They’ve got some difficult decisions coming up because they are not on the same page.”
The insider added, “[Meghan] misses her friends, she misses her day-to-day routine and she really misses her mom. She talks to Doria every day, usually multiple times but it’s not the same as spending every weekend with her.”
The Duchess also reportedly doesn’t want to spend Christmas “making uncomfortable small talk” with the royal family. Meanwhile, the Sussexes’ return has already come with a few headaches. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet left their first U.K. school after just two days.
The main issue was the daily school run and traffic. Then Markle faced another security scare. She reportedly joined a school parents’ WhatsApp group the day before Archie and Lilibet were due to start. Screenshots of an alleged message from Markle later circulated online. Her personal number was reportedly leaked from there.
The family’s security situation remains unsettled, too. RAVEC agreed to review Harry and Markle’s security arrangements after their return to Britain. The couple lost automatic police protection in 2020 after stepping down as working royals and moving to the U.S.
A separate HeatWorld source claimed the couple is using a “divide and conquer” approach in Britain. Markle is focusing on the children and her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Harry, meanwhile, has been handling more public work and chasing new opportunities. But Markle reportedly doesn’t see herself as someone who simply follows Harry around.
“She’s focused on the kids and her brand, and truth be told, she’s not interested in following him around like some Stepford wife,” the source said. The insider claimed Harry agrees with the plan. It also means “a whole lot more pressure on his shoulders and absolutely zero time to himself.” The source added, “The moment he’s free from work he’s got to rush home to give Meghan a break from parenting duties.”
Harry was reportedly “adamant” that the U.K. move would help him “bring in more money.” The source claimed he is now “running from one gig to the next.” At the same time, “he’s working all his contacts to find other opportunities.” Moreover, it is “not just for himself, he wants to open doors for Meghan too, he promised her he would.”
But their schedules have reportedly pulled them apart more often. “Harry is out late schmoozing and Meghan’s in bed well before midnight.” So, “She can be up early with the children and as soon as the school run is done, she’s straight into work mode.”
Still, the couple was spotted together again on October 1. They held hands as they headed into The Falkland Arms in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, for lunch. It was their first photographed outing together in the U.K. since coming back in August. The pub source told The Sun that they “just acted like locals.”
