Scheana Shay Apologized to Kristen Doute for Never Realizing People Had ‘Done Her Dirty’
Scheana Shay and Kristen Doute spent years starring on Vanderpump Rules together. While they are no longer on the show, they remain fixtures in each other’s lives. Shay admitted that she recently had to apologize to Doute for not working enough to understand her. She said that Doute often saw a different side to people than she did.
Scheana Shay said she had to apologize to Kristen Doute
Shay and Doute have known each other for years. The former admitted that she only recently realized that she was hurting Doute with some of her behavior.
“I actually just recently had apologized to her for something,” she admitted on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked, “and I just said, ‘I’m so sorry that sometimes it takes me years to see what you see in people in days,’ because that’s been an issue with mine and Kristen’s friendship is people who have done her dirty who I have like remained cool with and she’s like, ‘Do you not see?’ And I’m like, ‘No, I don’t.’”
Shay said that Doute’s opinions on their mutual acquaintances are almost always correct.
“And then I see it, and I’m like, ‘Oh, she was right.’ Again.”
Scheana Shay isn’t starring on ‘The Valley’
While Shay and Doute spent years as Vanderpump Rules co-stars, they do not star alongside each other on The Valley. Shay makes occasional appearances as she is a part of the friend group, but she said she chose not to join the cast. She clarified that this is her choice, but it doesn’t bother her when people assume the show opted not to hire her.
“It doesn’t bother me,” she said. “It bothers my mom when people say things, and she’s like, ‘She turned it down. She didn’t want to do it.’ I was like, ‘Mom, again, look at your tattoo right here that says, “Let them.” Let them talk about me.’ Keep my name in your mouth. I don’t care. It doesn’t bother me.”
She said that after watching the show, she knows she made the right choice by not joining the cast. Still, she is keeping the door open for future seasons.
“I’m like, the fact that people are saying they want to see me on the show, I appreciate that. I love people checking in on me, you know? So, it doesn’t bother me,” she said. “It just, you know, last year it was not the right fit. I did not feel that that was the path I was supposed to be on. And watching it back, I knew I made the right decision. For the future, you never know.”
