“Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared,” Janelle captioned a photo herself with her new beau. “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed. And it has been pretty wonderful.”
“Everyone please meet Pete,” she added.
Congratulations quickly rolled in after Janelle shared her exciting life update.

‘Sister Wives’ star embraces a new season of life
Janelle has been a TLC fixture since 2010, when she began starring in Sister Wives with Kody Brown and this three other wives. The show has followed the ups and downs of their lives as a plural family, including the disintegration of three of Kody’s four marriages and the tragic death of his and Janelle’s son Garrison Brown in March 2024 at age 25.
Janelle, who was spiritually married to Kody for 30 years, announced she was leaving her husband in December 2022. She later moved from Arizona to North Carolina, where’s she’s built her own custom home and started a business, Taeda Farms.
In 2025, she said she had little interested in another relationship.
“My marriage is over. I don’t know what I’m gonna do,” she said during an appearance on Kate and Oliver Hudson’s Sibling Revelry podcast. “I’m not really interested in getting married again or even really dating at this stage. So I’m not even thinking about, like, ‘Oh, what do I need to do?’ Because I’m just like, I am over [it] … I love my single life.”
Late last year, Janelle also hinted that she might be making another big change, suggesting in a social media update that she had quit Sister Wives.
“I used to think I’d ‘broken’ at certain points in my life,” Janelle shared in a December 2025 post on Instagram. “Leaving the show… leaving a marriage… starting over at an age where everyone expects you to have it all figured out.
“Shedding feels painful while you’re in it, but on the other side you realize you didn’t lose yourself… you uncovered her,” she added. “…If everything feels like it’s falling apart… just hold on. Most of the time, it’s actually falling away.”
Sister Wives is streaming on HBO Max.
