Everyone wants the best for their baby. Some parents may even hope that by naming their newborn after a famous and successful person, such as pop star Taylor Swift or Denver Nuggets player Nikola Jokić, a little of that magic may rub off on their child. 

But who’s the best bet if you’re looking for a lucky name for your little one? Social casino Mcluck analysed which names appeared the most in the record books over the past 10 years, including Oscar winners, Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards, NBA and NFL MVPs, U.S. Open champions, and those on the top of Forbes’ yearly list of richest people. Here’s what their deep dive found.

The luckiest baby names for girls 

The 10 luckiest names for girls are: 

  1. Taylor 
  2. Emma
  3. Frances 
  4. Aryna
  5. Naomi
  6. Chloé
  7. Jane
  8. Jessica
  9. Jessie
  10. Michelle

It’s no surprise that Taylor tops the list of lucky names for girls. Taylor Swift has won multiple Artist of the Year awards at the AMAs. And she could add an Oscar to her list of accolades next year if she scores a nomination for her Toy Story 5 song, “I Knew It, I Knew You.”

Emma is another lucky name thanks to two-time Oscar-winner Emma Stone and tennis player and U.S. Open winner Emma Raducanu. Frances made the list thanks to Frances McDormand, who won Oscars for Best Actress in 2017 and 2020.  Aryna takes the No. 4 spot on the list due to Aryna Sabalenka, who won the U.S. Open in 2024 and 2025. Naomi also makes the list courtesy of two U.S. Open wins from Naomi Osaka, in 2018 and 2020.

The luckiest baby names for boys 

The 10 luckiest names for boys are: 

  1. Nikola 
  2. Carlos
  3. Jeff
  4. Novak
  5. Rafael
  6. Aaron
  7. Giannis
  8. Lamar
  9. Patrick
  10. Shai

On the boy’s side, Nikola tops the list thanks to three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. It’s followed by Carlos due to the success of tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, who won the U.S. Open twice in the past 10 years.  

Jeff takes the No. 3 spot courtesy of billionaire Jeff Bezos, who has been the richest person on Forbes’ list four times. (Strangely Elon does not appear on the list, though he’s also made multiple appearances on the Forbes rich list.) 

Other notably lucky and successful names were Novak and Rafael, referring to U.S. Open Champions Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. The rest of the top 10 was made up of Aaron, Giannis, Lamar, Patrick, and Shai. A combination of NFL and NBA MVPs from the past decade.
