After Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, made allegations of domestic violence against each other, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives paused filming on its fifth season. Paul is taking a step away from the show for the time being. Executive producer Jeff Jenkins said both Paul and Mortensen are welcome back on the show’s cast. At this point, though, they cannot film together.

‘SLOMW’ paused filming amid Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen drama

In February, both Paul and Mortensen made allegations of domestic violence against each other. When this news broke, SLOMW paused filming its fifth season. They are close to picking up the cameras again, though.

“We’re very close,” Jenkins told Variety. “The cast members I’ve talked to are excited to get back in there and get back at it. We’ve been on pause for almost two months, so I’m excited to get back at it.”

While Paul is currently taking a break from the show, Jenkins said that this is not a permanent move.

“I’ve talked to Taylor, and she wants to come back, and I want her to come back,” he said. “So I’m really hopeful that that’s going to happen. She’s amazing.”

He said that both Paul and Mortensen can resume filming the show. As they have each filed protective orders against each other, they are not allowed to film together.

“If you watched the live feed from the judge’s courtroom, both Dakota and Taylor have stay away orders now that are official, so fortunately or unfortunately, whatever your perspective, we won’t be able to shoot with them together, ever again, or at least for a very long time,” Jenkins said. “But I’m very hopeful that we’ll be shooting with both of them or either of them very soon.”

Her other castmates reportedly don’t want anything to do with her

It’s not clear how the other members of the cast will feel about Paul’s return to the show.

“I think everyone in the existing cast has strong opinions about the last two months, and those opinions are every perspective you can imagine,” Jenkins said. “So it’s going to be very interesting when we start back up any day now. How does that sort out? We’ve got to shoot together to sort it out.”

When the show paused filming, the other women on the cast were reportedly not happy with her.

“They kind of all decided, as a unit, that they’re taking the production pause, that they don’t want to film right now,” a source close to production told People. “I don’t think they care about her really right now. They’re just kind of like, ‘We’re done for right now.’”

Another source said that “none of the women want to be associated with her.”
