Taylor Swift Has Played a Surprisingly Big Role in Dakota Johnson and MGK’s Romance

Dakota Johnson and MGK are reportedly several months into a romantic relationship. After connecting at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, they pursued a romance. Swift herself has played a surprising role in the new relationship.

MGK and Johnson have reportedly “been hanging out and seeing each other under the radar for months now” (via People). The romance appears to have begun in July. A source noted that MGK and Johnson “had met before, but hit it off at” Swift and Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding.

“[They] started off as friends and were texting often, but now they’re spending more time together,” the source added. “It’s a very new start, but they’re smitten with each other right now.”

While things are “super casual” between them at this point, MGK reportedly thinks Johnson is “amazing.”

“They haven’t put a label on their relationship yet, they are just seeing where spending time together will take them,” the source said.

The wedding is not the only connection Swift has to the new couple. This month, Johnson and MGK stepped out in New York City for a date night. Before sharing dinner at Estela Restaurant, they stopped into Swift’s Tribeca apartment. Swift was not home at the time. If they’re using the space without her, it seems that she’s hoping to see the budding romance work out.
