Paul and Christina Caldwell Issue a Bold Statement on Joseph Duggars Arrest
Paul and Christina Caldwell, the parents of Kendra Caldwell, have finally broken their silence on Joseph Duggar’s child molestation arrest. It has been nearly a month since news broke that the former reality TV star had been charged with lewd and lascivious behavior. Still, the Caldwells appear to be just now free to speak out about it all. Their statement is pretty telling. It comes just days after a family friend lambasted the Duggar family for forcing the Caldwells out of their home.
Paul and Christina Caldwell finally address Joseph Duggar’s arrest
Paul and Christina Caldwell were hard at work earlier this month, moving out of a home owned by Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell. The family’s need for alternative living arrangements was pretty pressing, with the duo crowdsourcing funds for an urgent move. The need arose around the time Joseph Duggar was arrested for child molestation. It looks like the family was so busy finding somewhere to live that they didn’t bother to issue a statement about the arrest.
Now that they are no longer living in a Duggar-owned property, they are opening up. The couple, who are parents to nine children, took to Instagram to discuss the arrest. In their statement, they praised the victim’s bravery multiple times. They also insisted they were praying for the young girl harmed by Joseph Duggar’s behavior, while maintaining her anonymity. They went on to condemn his actions.
Still, they noted that they remain concerned about their grandchildren and that they still love their daughter, Kendra, deeply. The pair’s statement about Kendra has some Duggar family critics side-eyeing the situation even further. The Caldwells smartly opted to turn off comments on the upload. They are not prolific Instagram users.
Rumors of a rift arose quickly
The Caldwells didn’t mention a rift with their eldest daughter in their statement. Instead, they insisted their love for her remains. It’s not convincing online sleuths who have been following the situation.
Rumors that the Caldwells are currently on the outs with Kendra took hold late last month. Theories developed quickly after Michelle Duggar showed up to bail Kendra out of jail on unrelated charges, rather than her own mother. Jailhouse phone calls between Joseph Duggar and Kendra furthered the narrative. In one call, the duo discussed her parents moving out of a home they own within the month.
Any doubt Duggar critics had that a family feud was brewing evaporated when Amy Paul took to Instagram to expose the situation. Earlier this month, Paul revealed she traveled to Arkansas to help the Caldwells move because they were being “retaliated against.” She lambasted the Duggar family, claiming that false CPS reports had been filed and that water and electricity had been cut to the home where the Caldwells were staying to hasten their departure.
The Duggars have not issued a public statement about Paul’s assertions.
