‘The McBee Dynasty’ S3 Premiere: Cole McBee Fears He and Kacie Could Lose Their House to Pay Locked-Up Dad’s Debts
The McBee family faces their toughest moment yet in the season 3 premiere of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys.
The Bravo series returned June 15 with an episode that focused on Steven McBee’s Sr.’s sentencing for crop insurance fraud. The elder McBee’s fate loomed large over the close-knit family, who are struggling to deal with the fallout from their dad’s legal issues.
Steven McBee Sr. faces sentencing for crop insurance fraud
In November 2024, the McBee family patriarch pleaded guilty to swindling the government by underreporting crop yields and claiming insurance benefits he wasn’t entitled to receive. In October 2025, he was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison and ordered to repay the roughly $3 million in fraudulent insurance benefits, plus an addition $4 million in restitution.
The news is obviously not what the McBees wanted to hear. In the beginning of the episode, Steven’s Sr.’s son, Steven McBee Jr., was hopeful his dad – who was facing up to 30 years in federal lockup – would get probation or house arrest. But their dad’s incarceration isn’t the only challenge facing the McBee brothers. The family’s entire business – including the farm, the car washes, and other ventures – is leveraged to the hilt. Due to a “morals clause” in the loans, the banks could demand almost immediate repayment if McBee Sr. goes to prison. The effect would be catastrophic.
“My fear is that if something goes bad tomorrow, we’re going to have a domino effect of banks calling notes,” Steven Jr. tells McBee Farms CFO Galyna Saltkovska.
“If any of these banks pull these loans, that could end up reaching eight figures really quickly,” he explains to a producer.
Cole McBee and Kacie Adkinson could lose their ‘dream house’
The problem isn’t just a business one. Cole McBee, his partner Kacie Adkison could also lose the “dream house” they share with their baby daughter, Blair. That’s news to Kacie.
“I know technically this land is in one of Steve’s loans. If something bad were to happen tomorrow, they can pull that loan,” Jesse McBee’s wife Allie McBee tells Kacie at a family gathering just before the sentencing.
“Wait, so that would mean they could take our house?” a stunned Kacie replies. “I don’t know why he would keep that from me.”
“If we did lose the house, I just don’t know what we’d do,” she says in an interview. “We put all of our money into our house. We can’t just start over … it makes me sick.”
Kacie, who is “going to freak out,” confronts Cole about the issue.
“For some reason, my house and the ground that it’s sitting on, whenever we got it bought, it got put in my dad’s name,” Cole tells a producer. “…Kacie, I didn’t even want her to think about this going into the sentencing day tomorrow.”
‘The McBee Dynasy’ brothers vow to find a way forward after dad’s sentencing
Cole admits he doesn’t know what’s going to happen with his dad, or with the house where he and Kacie plan to raise their daughter.
“We’ll figure it out,” he tells her. But with McBee Sr. on the hook for millions due to his guilty plea, it’s difficult to see a way forward.
“My dad facing a $7 million fine is hard to even fathom,” Steven Jr. says. “That’s a ton of money that we do not have.”
After the sentencing, the eldest McBee brother tries to reassure Cole and Kacie that everything will be OK.
“We’ll make a game plan in here,” he tells them. “You guys are not going to lose your house. We’ll figure out a way.”
The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys Season 3 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
