The Who’s Who of Lil Durk’s ‘Opp List’
Lil Durk’s trial wrapped up its 11th day on September 2. While the first days of the murder-for-hire trial offered several major revelations, Day 11 brought a true bombshell. Prosecutors introduced a message they say Lil Durk sent to a member of his team, listing people he considered his biggest enemies. Several famous names made the list. So, who exactly was on the list and why?
Several high-profile names landed on a list of people Lil Durk allegedly hates
Lil Durk’s private messages are revealing a lot about how the 33-year-old Chicago rapper feels. One message allegedly lays out exactly who he hates. In a bombshell moment, prosecutors revealed that Quando Rondo, NBA YoungBoy, Trina and 6ix9ine all made Lil Durk’s alleged enemies list.
Quando Rondo’s name appeared early in the list and appears to be the most important name for prosecutors. He was the alleged target of the murder-for-hire plot that resulted in the charges against Lil Durk. Prosecutors say Durk placed a bounty on him in retaliation for the November 2020 killing of King Von.
NBA YoungBoy might not be central to this particular case, but his inclusion on the list isn’t much of a surprise. He has had a long-running, very well-documented feud with Lil Durk, one that allegedly stems in part from the death of King Von.
6ix9ine is also loosely connected to the case through King Von’s murder. Kavon Grant, a cooperating witness who pleaded guilty and is testifying under an agreement with prosecutors, testified that 6ix9ine’s public mockery of Durk for failing to retaliate after Von’s death escalated tensions. Lil Durk’s alleged hatred for 6ix9ine appears to stem directly from those public comments, though in recent years 6ix9ine has kept a relatively low profile where Durk is concerned.
No one is sure why Trina made the list
Trina, a veteran rapper, has no known connection to Lil Durk. There has been no public feud between the two, and she has no easily traced link to anyone in his circle. Trina’s inclusion is what has driven the widespread debate on social media about Lil Durk’s alleged “opp list.”
Two other names remain unexplained, even as fans and critics discuss the list openly online. In court, prosecutors did not explain exactly who “Alexander Witherspoon” is. They did not disclose the identity of a person identified only as “Butter Cup,” either. According to XXL, the Alexander Witherspoon named in the message may be the same man whom Lil Durk and King Von were charged with shooting. The incident took place outside of The Varsity restaurant in Atlanta in February 2019. Durk maintained his innocence in that case. All charges against him were dropped in October 2022 when the Fulton County District Attorney’s office opted not to pursue the case.
Why is Lil Durk on trial?
Lil Durk was arrested in South Florida in 2024. He was taken into custody as he attempted to flee the country. Lil Durk was charged with conspiracy, use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death. The charges stem from a 2022 shooting in Los Angeles that left Quando Rondo’s cousin dead.
Lil Durk has pleaded not guilty and denies the allegations. He has been held in custody since his arrest. If convicted on all counts, he faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole. The trial began on August 20, 2026, in Los Angeles federal court and is expected to last about a month.
