TLC Announces New Season of ‘7 Little Johnstons’ Days After Former Star Anna Johnston’s DUI Arrest
A new season of 7 Little Johnstons is coming to TLC this November 17, even as one of the show’s former stars faces the fallout from her recent DUI arrest.
In the new episodes, the Johnstons enjoy life-changing milestones and big celebrations, as well as some quintessential Johnston family fun. Liz and her husband Brice are preparing to welcome baby number two, and they – and the rest of the family – can’t wait to meet the little one. But along with happy moments, such as discovering whether they are having a boy or girl, they face challenges as Liz’s small stature puts her at greater risks of complications during the baby’s birth.
Meanwhile, both Trent and Amber are look at some big changes in their own life. As Trent turns 50, he decides to take on an ambitious challenge of trying 50 new things at 50, including performing magic tricks and going rock climbs. At the same time, Amber is figuring out how to navigate perimenopause while continuing to juggle her other responsibilities.
The other Johnston kids are also facing their own big questions. Jonah is once again the focus of his parents’ concern as they wonder what’s next for him and his girlfriend, Ashley. And Emma is turning 21 and “still single,” she laments in the teaser.
“Are you wanting a boyfriend?” one of her friends asks.
“Yes,” she replies.
But one member of the Johnston family is noticeably absent. Anna Johnston left the show ahead of season 17, which aired earlier this year, and she will not appear in the upcoming 18th season. Her departure came amid a falling out with her parents that began with a dispute over a graduation gown but soon grew into a full-fledged estrangement.
“I’m at that point it’s like, ‘Yes, y’all attempted to talk to me and stuff like that and it’s we’re not getting anywhere,’” Anna said in a December 2025 episode of 7 Little Johnstons. “There’s nothing else to work out. I’m definitely ready just to move on.”
Recently, Anna, 26, found herself in handcuffs after she arrested on suspicion of DUI in Georgia on October 10. She was released the next day on a $1,563 bond, People reports.
According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, which was first to report the arrest news, police spotted Anna and her boyfriend, Jeffrey Messervy pulled over by the side of the road. He told officers that they’d gotten into an argument because she was driving with alcohol in her system. After noticing that Anna had slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet, they administered a sobriety test, which indicated her blood alcohol level was 0.139.
Anna hasn’t directly commented on her arrest, but she has responded to several people on social media who were commenting on her situation.
In one comment, Anna admitted that her DUI was ““not good.” But she asked that people withhold judgement.
“Make sure you are walking a straight path before you judge anyone, including my parents or anyone,” she said. “Let me know when you are walking a straight path, so I can hear your judgement.”
7 Little Johnstons premieres Tuesday, November 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
