Venezuela Fury, the 16-year-old daughter of Tyson Fury, is officially a married woman. The teen wed her 19-year-old boyfriend in a lavish Isle of Man ceremony. The wedding is among the most discussed of the year thus far, but not because of the high-profile pairing. Instead, people are side-eyeing the marriage of such a young teen. Now, Tyson and his wife, Paris, are being judged for the gift they’ve given their teen daughter. Still, they insist it is in line with tradition.

Tyson Fury gifted his daughter a load of money for her wedding day

Tyson Fury’s daughter might have said “I do” before becoming a legal adult, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t getting a gift intended for an adult setting out on her own. In fact, Venezuela Fury and her new husband, Noah Price, received an eye-wateringly generous gift from the Furys to ensure their future is not marred by financial insecurity.

What Is Tyson Fury’s Net Worth?

An insider speaking with the U.S. Sun claims that Tyson and his longtime wife gifted the new couple £5 million to get themselves set up in their marital home. Along with that, they were also gifted a traditional mobile wagon, as well as household items. Tyson and Paris footed the bill for the couple’s wedding and honeymoon as well.

Social media users were shocked by the gift, wondering if two teens could really use that money wisely without making themselves targets. Apparently, outsiders aren’t the only ones concerned — several family members have apparently raised questions about the gift, and John Fury, Tyson’s father, made it clear in a social media upload that he was not entirely sold on his granddaughter becoming a wife at 16.

Noah Price, who met Venezuela via social media last year, proposed at her 16th birthday party. Price, 19, is an aspiring boxer.

Tyson Fury and Paris Fury married young, too

While plenty of people are side-eyeing the nuptials given Venezuela’s young age, it actually isn’t particularly uncommon in the family’s culture. Tyson Fury and his wife, Paris Fury, were born and raised inside the Travellers community. The Travellers are an indigenous nomadic ethnic group native to Ireland. The group has a unique culture, language, and identity separate from the settled Irish community. While they are often compared to the Romani people, the two groups are distinct.

Fury has spoken openly about Travellers’ traditions and his desire to raise his children in accordance with those traditions. Tyson, the self-proclaimed “Gypsy King,” is the father of seven children. He shares all seven with his wife, Paris. Venezuela is the couple’s eldest, while their youngest child, Prince Rico Paris, is just three. Fury and Paris were married in 2008. They were just 20 and 18 years old, respectively. The average age of marriage in the community is between 15 and 21.
