Victoria Beckham recently launched her homeware line and revealed what’s “unacceptable and unforgivable” when hosting a party. Days later, she was spotted in New York and her outing had fans joking that they really hope there were no “paper napkins” anywhere she went.

On Oct. 12, the former Spice Girl released her exclusive collaboration with European home and living brand Westwing. She also shared a video of her dos and don’ts when it comes to hosting.

“Home is where some of life’s most meaningful moments happen, and this collaboration felt like a natural way to explore that world through the same lens of design, craftsmanship and attention to detail that defines everything we do as a brand,” Beckham said of the collection per Harper’s Bazaar. “I always like to create ultimately what I desire, what I want in my own life.

“So working with Westwing was something I was really excited to do and something that I’m also really proud of. Hosting is really important to me personally and really part of my brand DNA.”

She talked about one “unacceptable, unforgiveable sin” and to her that is paper napkins.

Fans in turn had a lot to say about that comment and made jokes at Mrs. Beckham’s expense.

“It is highly unlikely that Victoria is even setting a table for a meal, or doing much of the meal prep,” one person wrote. “It would be utterly lovely to sit at a table with cloth napkins and a prepared meal each evening but for the majority of the human race who do not possess nannies, cooks, and house keepers who launder those napkins, paper napkins are the norm. While it is fine for anyone to prefer cloth napkins to paper, stating that one would not go to a home where paper napkins are used says a lot about Victoria and her values.”

Another agreed adding, “She also has staff to clean up and wash and iron the napkins.”

“Her lifestyle, her home, her choice. But, not to go to someone’s else’s home for a meal bc of their choice of napkins, is odd. Especially at a casual outdoor BBQ or children’s party. Unless of course, they are in evening gowns & tuxes,” another said.

And a fourth chimed in, “It must be truly nice to live an uncompromising life.”

“Oh noooooo she won’t be coming to my house…..How will I go on…..the horror and despair,” a fifth person joked, while a sixth posted, “I guess paper napkins are for us little people so I don’t have to fret about her coming here.”
