Victoria Beckham’s Viral World Cup Face Becomes Biggest Meme of the Tournament
Victoria Beckham isn’t known for showing a ton of emotion in public, even if it seems warranted. Posh Spice has long been accused of never smiling and always having a “stone-faced expression” plastered on her face. And now a meme of Victoria’s reaction during England’s World Cup match in which they defeated Norway has gone viral.
Here’s how David Beckham just responded to his wife’s new meme.
The image of Victoria that went viral shows fans erupting just after Jude Bellingham snuck one of his two goals past Norway keeper Orjan Nyland. The designer’s husband, David, and their children Romeo, Cruz, and Harper all leapt to their feet at the sight of the goal. But Victoria wasn’t as impressed. She remained seated and did not smile or cheer while everyone around her looked elated.
People soon began sharing photos of the moment all over social media and commenting on it.
Comedian Jenny Johnson joined in as well and joked, “I wanted to take a moment to single out[England’s] number one fan Victoria, Lady Beckham!!!! There’s nothing like cheering your heart out for England from home, then they cut to Victoria and we see that classic Posh Spice smile! It’s so infectious! I used to think I got animated while watching sports, but Victoria blows my enthusiasm out of the water! Each time I see her I shout, ‘SPICE UP YOUR LIFE!!!!’ because her energy is electric!!! See for yourself!”
Another person wanted to know, “How does she hold emotions back like that? I’d be jumping on [David Beckham’s] back.”
Following all the buzz online, David decided to join the conversation, writing: “[Victoria] was celebrating inside, I promise. Her reactions were slightly slower than mine,” alongside a crying-laughing emoji.
