Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mikayla Matthews recently called out her co-star, Taylor Frankie Paul. After Whitney Leavitt posted a TikTok with some of the show’s stars, Paul responded with a flurry of posts. She later changed her Instagram bio to describe herself as the “creator of MomTok.” Matthews responded to the drama in a post of her own.

Mikayla Matthews called out Taylor Frankie Paul on social media

Leavitt recently posted a TikTok with Matthews, Miranda Hope, Jessi Draper, Layla Taylor, Jen Affleck, and Mayci Neeley. In the video, the castmates dance. Overlaid text reads, “We’re surviving,” which is a play on the frequent refrain, “Will MomTok survive this?”

Paul responded, “Looks like thriving to me, I’ll show you surviving.” She later posted a video of various opportunities she has received and changed her Instagram bio to describe herself as the “creator of MomTok.” Matthews responded to Paul on her Instagram Stories.

“It’s honestly crazy that we’re even arguing about who created what or who’s more relevant,” she wrote.

She noted that while Paul’s “soft swinging” scandal helped inspire the show, all the cast members have shaped the reality series.

“Of course the talks of a show came from the Mormon moms swinging drama being exposed online by Taylor (who wouldn’t want to pick that s*** up and watch it!?), and of course we’ve gotten incredible opportunities since, but every single girl had to interview and was cast because of the value and vulnerability THEY brought to make this show what it is today,” she continued. “If they wanted a show about one person or the swinging drama, drama, they would’ve done that.”

She accused Paul of using her large platform to intimidate people.

“Throwing around the word ‘bully,’ but failing to acknowledge there has to be that power imbalance. Constantly threatening to ‘f*** someone up’ or ruin their life publicly and using your much bigger platform to send hate to them for the sole reason of taking back that power,” she wrote. “Constantly reposting things and repeatedly pushing the narrative of, ‘I’m the reason you have this, you only got it cause I turned it down, I’m a star and you’re not as interesting. Don’t forget it,’ seems like weaponizing and manipulating your following to keep yourself in that power position to intimidate the people around you over and over.”

Taylor Frankie Paul apologized for ‘wrongdoing’ in the drama with Mikayla Matthews

Paul later said that she reflected on the drama and regrets her involvement.

“It’s time to stop letting ego, anger, and fear run the show,” she wrote on social media. “I’m in a lot of pain acting in defense with the amount of trials happening at once. I had to get recentered to allow the pain in.”

She said that she felt “betrayed” and abandoned by her former castmates. Still, she does not want to be a part of the drama anymore.

“I’ll be the first to admit my wrong doing’s in the MomTok mess. We’re at each other’s throats and I’m removing myself from responding to any of it moving forward,” she said, adding, “I’ve never discredited them. I’ve always supported all of them in their success. I’ve had their backs in times of need. I became defensive and let my ego take over when I heard …what I heard.”
