Several months after Taylor Frankie Paul’s ex, Dakota Mortensen, got custody of their son, Ever, she has regained the right to unsupervised visitation. This is a win for Paul amid the ongoing custody battle. An attorney noted that this could also push Disney toward releasing her shelved season of The Bachelorette.

Taylor Frankie Paul recently had a win on child visitation in court

On June 1, a judge updated Paul and Mortensen’s custody agreement. Paul can now have unsupervised visitation with Ever. She will have custody of him on the same midweek day without overnights and alternating weekends.

The judge also banned the couple from making disparaging remarks about each other on social media. He told them to go to therapy and to remain 100 feet away from each other.

Here’s what the court win could mean for Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of ‘The Bachelorette’

After footage of Paul attacking Mortensen leaked, Disney pulled her season of The Bachelorette. Los Angeles media and entertainment attorney Tre Lovell, of The Lovell Firm, said that her win in court could be a good sign for her season.

“If Taylor’s brand and her name are restored to the point where she can regain some of her formerly held positive image, that could provide a green light for Disney to consider releasing her season of The Bachelorette,” he said. “Although the chances of this ever actually occurring are unlikely, it would not be outside of the realm of possibility. The negative history of Taylor’s past would have to be something that Disney, from a business perspective, can justify and overcome as opposed to simply moving on to the next contestant.”

He believes that her recent court victory is an important step in the rehabilitation of her public image.

“The fact that Taylor has gone from supervised to now unsupervised visits shows she’s on the road to potentially having joint physical custody,” he said. “If that happens and the court puts its stamp of approval on her competency to resume her motherly rights for joint custody, that will give producers cover to go forward with bringing her back to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives or some other reality show.”

Even if her season of The Bachelorette doesn’t air, Lovell does not believe her career on reality television is over.

“In the contours of reality television, tension and drama are what sell the show,” he said. “It’s unfortunate when such tension leads to physical violence, but displaying such violence in a way that is loyal to the truth of what is actually happening is what defines reality television. The more drama the better the product is for reality television and the more true it is.”

A Disney executive said the season could see the light of day

Disney pulled Paul’s season of The Bachelorette shortly before it premiered. Still, executives have noted that people still may be able to see it.

“The day all of that stuff happened, really our first sort of concern was really for Taylor and the family and everyone involved in that, it was really more on a human level,” executive Rob Mills told Deadline. “Now, we’re sort of taking it a day at a time. I think her season is a wonderful season, by Bachelor standards. If it gets seen, I’m sure people will absolutely enjoy it.”

At this point, though, Mills said they haven’t made any concrete decisions.
