Adam Driver first started receiving critical acclaim for his work in the hit HBO series Girls. As Adam Sackler, Driver proved that he was capable of expressing a gamut of emotions, inhabiting a complicated character that inspired a lot of fan reactions. In 2015, Driver got his big commercial breakthrough when he was cast as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise — a role that he has now played three times, to fan acclaim.

Since his big break, Driver has consistently chosen interesting film projects, including Spike Lee’s BlackkKlansman and Jim Jarmusch’s Patterson. For his work in BlackkKlansman, Driver was nominated for several awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor. More recently, Driver worked with famed director Ridley Scott on two films, the action epic The Last Duel and the historical biopic House of Gucci.

What did Adam Driver say about avoiding wrap parties?

Adam Driver might be a famous star, but he prefers to avoid a lot of exclusive events associated with his status. In a recent interview with W Magazine, Driver opened up about why he hasn’t attended a wrap party since his days on the set of Girls. As reported by People magazine, Driver said, “I do not live in the same world as Maurizio Gucci. The way he picks up things that are valuable and discards them, the way he is the most elegant man — those qualities were interesting to think about.”

He went on to note, “But after 14 hours a day of being a Gucci, I was ready for it to be over. In general, I leave jobs immediately. I haven’t been to a wrap party since Girls. I just want to get the character out of my system and go home.”
