‘Cobra Kai’ Sweethearts Peyton List and Jacob Bertrand Starred in a 2016 Disney Channel Movie Together
No one could have predicted the success of Cobra Kai or the interest in the young actors starring in the TV series. Peyton List and Jacob Bertrand play two of the most popular characters on the show, and fans have a new reason to cheer them on. So what’s the big news, and how long have they known each other?
Peyton List and Jacob Bertrand star in ‘Cobra Kai’
Bertrand has been a part of the Cobra Kai cast since season 1. He plays Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz, who has had quite the character arc. Hawk goes from bullied nerd to bully to kid who doesn’t quite know who he is but finds a new path.
List plays tough-as-nails Tory Nichols. Her character comes across as a girl with a rough past who lashes out at the world. Her character has since grown, and fans are eager to see where things go for Tory in season 5, now that she knows Sensei Terry Silver used her to win the All-Valley Tournament.
Although Hawk and Tory don’t show much chemistry on screen, fans were thrilled to learn that Bertrand and List are now dating. TMZ spotted them traveling together and asked them if they were a couple, which Bertrand confirmed.
‘Cobra Kai’ isn’t the 1st time Peyton List and Jacob Bertrand have appeared onscreen together
Though List and Bertrand are best known for Cobra Kai, the two have acted onscreen together before. List played Emma Ross on Disney’s Jessie and Bunk’d. She also had a brief but haunting role on Hulu’s Light as a Feather, IMDb reports.
Bertrand also has some history with Disney. He played the titular character in Kirby Buckets. He also portrayed a high school student in Stephen Spielberg’s sci-fi adventure Ready Player One.
Peyton List and Jacob Bertrand shared the screen for the first time in the 2016 Disney Channel movie The Swap. They co-star as Ellie O’Brien and Jack Malloy. As the title of the movie implies, the two switch bodies. The twist is that a text makes the swap happen. Each character must come to terms with the fact that the other’s life isn’t quite as easy as they had thought. The Swap is based on Megan Shull’s book by the same name.
Bertrand plans to troll the media over his relationship with List
Now that Peyton List and Jacob Bertrand are official, he plans to have some fun with the press. He wasn’t exactly eager to let the world know they’re a couple, and neither opened up about their romance until TMZ asked them directly. Even so, given the interest in celebrity relationships and the rumors that can swirl, planting false stories won’t be difficult.
Bertrand first laid out his plan on the podcast Lone Lobos, which he co-hosts with his Cobra Kai co-star Xolo Maridueña. Some of the rumors he plans to start are quite funny.
One involves List having a thing for “feet stuff.” Then Bertrand will let it slip that he’s not really interested in that fetish and hopes the press will begin to spread rumors that their relationship is doomed because the couple is clearly incompatible.
Bertrand then decided he’ll announce he and List are already married. Because some celebrities get married in secret, this tidbit would definitely shake up Cobra Kai fans. Even so, Peyton List and Jacob Bertrand are definitely not married yet. We think.
Going forward, it will be fun trying to figure out which rumors are true and which ones Bertrand planted.
