Tom Cruise had a meaningful relationship with Nicole Kidman. However, there was a certain line of questioning that he didn’t appreciate. One reporter crossed the line and got a bit too personal with the way he asked his questions. As a result, Cruise put the reporter in his place and continued to lift Kidman up.

Cruise had three wives over the course of his life thus far. He first married Mimi Rogers from 1987 to 1990. Next, Cruise married Kidman from 1990 until 2001, with whom he adopted two children. The actor would later marry Katie Holmes from 2006 until 2012. They also had a biological daughter together.

Cruise had other relationships in between these marriages, but he only married three times thus far. There was a lot of media surrounding each of his relationships, but he still always respected a level of privacy involving certain aspects of his personal relationships.

Tom Cruise put a reporter in his place for crossing the line with Nicole Kidman questioning

The 60 Minutes Australia YouTube channel posted a clip from their interview with Cruise leading up to War of the Worlds. However, the questions took a turn toward a more personal line of questioning. As a result, Cruise appropriately shut down the reporter’s attempts to get him to speak more about Kidman. He initially asked if she was the love of his life.

“What do you mean, Peter? Listen, we raise children,” Cruise responded. “I mean, how do you answer that question? She’s someone that … I plan on getting married again. Oh, absolutely, yeah.”

The interviewer asked if he planned on having more children with another woman and he said, “Absolutely.” However, he emphasized how much he cared for Kidman: “I love Nic. Very much. There’s no question.”

Cruise explained that he wanted Kidman to remarry, as well. “I want Nicole to be happy,” the actor said. “That’s what I want.”

When the interviewer asked about how their relationship developed over time, Cruise finally had enough.

“Listen, here’s the thing, Peter,” Cruise prefaced. “You’re stepping over a line now. You’re stepping over a line, you know you are. Peter, you want to know. Take responsibility for what you want to know. Don’t say what other people [want to know]. This is a conversation that I’m having with you right now. So, I’m just telling you right now, OK? Just put your manners back in.”

The interview steered back toward the movie after Cruise spoke up about the questions involving Kidman.

If Cruise entered another relationship, it isn’t public knowledge. There were initial rumors about who the actor could be dating, but none of them are proven. The actor is appropriately keeping the public’s attention focused on his movie career, which shows no sign of slowing down.

Cruise and Kidman originally co-starred in Days of Thunder, Far and Away, and Eyes Wide Shut. However, he continues to be a huge action star. After Top Gun: Maverick, he’s working on the two sequel installments for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.
