Alone is back, and this time, the competition is going global. For season 13, the History Channel series has recruited 10 survivalists from around the world. They’ll be dropped in Canada’s Arctic Circle, where they’ll be challenged to survive completely on their own while battling punishing weather, relentless isolation, and menacing predators. 

This season’s cast hails from the U.S., Wales, Portugal, and beyond. Who will last the longest – and go home $500,000 richer? Let’s meet the cast, and find out which 10 survival items each has selected to help them on their journey.

Aaron Barnard

Aaron Barnard is a 40-year-old tradesman from Canada who was raised on a hobby farm. He’s competing on Alone Season 13 in honor of his friend Travis, who died in a rafting accident while on a hunting trip.

David Booth

David Booth is a 53-year-old from the United States retired principal from Alaska. He was born in Guam and comes from a long line of outdoorspeople. He believe his time in education gave him essential problem-solving skills; he also spent 23 years as a professional fishing guide.

Nero Buys

Nero Buys is a 40-year-old from Australia. He’s an army vet who discovered a love of bushcraft survival skills. In 2024, he traveled to Canada to test his survival skills in a new environment, which prepared him for what he’ll face on Alone.

Jacks Genega

Jacks Genega is a 40-year-old wilderness skills educator from the New York. She traded a career as a video editor for van life and has embraced her new life built on self-reliance.

Will Longley

Will Longley is a 37-year-old stay-at-home dad from Alaska. He grew up in Nuuk, a coastal hunting and fishing site that his Iñupiaq family has called home for generations. Will applied for Alone with the idea of bringing his ancestral skills and knowledge to the competition.

‘Alone’ Casting Director Shares How Contestants Are Chosen For the Show

Žiga Ogorelec

Žiga Ogorelec is a 35-year-old biologist from Slovenia. He’s been participating in survival challenges since he was a teen, including completing a 270-kilometer, 15-day solo journey. He sees Alone as the ultimate survival challenge, as well as a way to connect with the skills honed by his central European ancestors.

Clementino Pedrosa

Clementino Pedrosa is a 40-year-old from Portugal. He’s a sergeant in the Portuguese Army who’s been deployed to Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Central Africa. For him, Alone is a way to test himself, his body, and his own limitations.

Andrew Price 

Andrew Price is a 51-year-old wilderness skills educator from Wales. He learned foraging skills from his grandfather and has traveled extensively around the world, where he’s learned about the skills of various indigenous groups. Eventually, he used that knowledge to start his own bushcraft school.

Poldi Waldmann-Moloney

Poldi Waldmann-Moloney is a 24-year-old whitewater kayaking instructor from New Zealand. He’s also a skilled bow hunter who spends 150 days a year stalking game. While he’s this season’s youngest contestant, he believes he has what it takes to win Alone Season 13.

David Young

David Young is a 31-year-old project manager from the Washington State. He got into outdoor activities as a teen, thanks to the influences of his new stepfather. Before his current career, he worked for Idaho’s department of fish and game, and he still enjoys spending his free time hiking, hunting, and camping with his family.
