Brandi Glanville’s medical journey has taken another dramatic turn. The former Bravo star is going under the knife in search of answers, and, true to form, the procedure is pretty extreme. During a recent podcast episode, the 53-year-old TV personality opened up about her planned exploratory facial surgery, and it sounds terrifying.

Brandi Glanville will have the inside of her face “power washed” in an exploratory surgery

On a recent episode of Brandi Glanville Unfiltered, Glanville told co-host James Maas that she’s undergoing an exploratory procedure for the facial disfigurement that has plagued her for the last few years. She said her surgeon will be “taking my face off” and doing a “power wash” under her skin.

According to Glanville, her doctor, whom she identified as Dr. Carlo Henrado, has pinpointed two spots beneath her skin that he wants to examine. The question, she explained, is whether they are fungal masses or something living. Glanville has her own theory. “I think it’s alive, personally, because it moves when it wants,” she said.

She was quick to point out that this is not cosmetic surgery, insisting it’s an intensive procedure designed to clear out whatever has been plaguing her. There’s another part of the procedure, too: Glanville said her blood will be spun down for a platelet treatment applied to the inside of her face. TMZ has reported that she’ll also begin a 90-day antifungal treatment after the surgery.

Despite calling the surgery “great news,” Glanville admitted to mixed emotions. She told listeners she was “super excited” but also “scared to death” heading into the procedure, which was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23.

Brandi Glanville’s health battle has made headlines

The upcoming procedure is just the latest chapter in Glanville’s ongoing and mysterious health battle. The trouble started back in 2024, when Glanville noticed swelling and changes in her face after a trip to Morocco for The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip. Doctors initially diagnosed her with stress-induced angioedema, and she publicly blamed Bravo for her condition.

In January 2025, she saw Botched co-host Dr. Terry Dubrow, who took four small biopsies from her face and neck and suspected an infection or a reaction to something that had been injected. Her condition didn’t improve, and in March 2025, she said her face was worse than ever. A month later, she was hospitalized after her head and neck wouldn’t move for hours.

By August 2025, Glanville appeared to be on the road to recovery, and that December, she told TMZ she’d finally received a diagnosis. In February 2026, she revealed that her nearly 20-year-old breast implants had completely ruptured, leaving silicone all over her lymph nodes. She said it took 21 doctors and $200,000 to find the cause. She had the implants removed, and her doctor began laser treatments on her face.

The relief didn’t last. In September, she shared a lengthy list of diagnoses, including ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Valley fever, Demodex dermatitis and mononucleosis. She has previously said doctors found a “fungal ball” in her face, and she later disclosed a benign tumor in a lymph node in her face.

This procedure is just the latest step forward, and whether it solves the problem remains to be seen. Fans can expect an update on Brandi Glanville Unfiltered once she has recovered, though it’s unclear how long that will take.
