Bunnie XO Said She and Jelly Roll Were Getting Everything They Dreamed of Just Months Before Divorce
Bunnie XO and Jelly Roll are getting a divorce after nearly ten years of marriage. The couple has spoken often and openly about their relationship over the years. They were recently in the middle of trying to have children together through IVF. Just months before their divorce, Bunnie said they were in the middle of achieving everything they’d ever wanted.
Bunnie XO spoke about trying to have a child with Jelly Roll
Bunnie was undergoing IVF treatments just months before the divorce. The couple hoped to conceive before using a surrogate to have twins. They already had a surrogate picked out.
In February, she told Yahoo! that undergoing IVF “brought me closer to God. It has taught me to lean on God and trust the process — that this life is a journey and everything’s on God’s watch, not ours.”
She said that she used to explore occult practices, but she has moved away from this after beginning IVF. While she doesn’t like organized religion, she has leaned into spirituality.
“When I wake up in the morning, I talk to God,” she said. “I just talk to him like he’s my homie, because I really feel like Jesus is a cool dude.”
She said that taking this next step made them giddy with happiness.
“We’ve never been here,” she said. “We’re excited. This is what we sat down and dreamt about the first night we were together — our five-year plan. We’re like: ‘What’s next?’ Anytime something happens, we just look at each other, like little kids, going, ‘Are you kidding me? This is crazy. What’s next?'”
Bunnie XO compared her love story with Jelly Roll to ‘Pretty Women’
When Bunnie and Jelly Roll met, she was a high-end escort, and he was a struggling musician. She compared her story to a version of Pretty Woman.
“Pretty Woman was this beautiful fairy tale of a working girl who finds a man who saves her,” she said. “My story is more about me. I found a great dude, and we saved ourselves. We changed together. We grew together. Parts of my book weren’t always beautiful, but in the end, we do get the happy ending.”
They’ve always been transparent about their beginnings, which she said made people root for them.
“There’s always going to be naysayers and trolls, but the world has been so accepting,” she said. “I think it’s because we have been 100% honest since the beginning. There weren’t any gotcha moments. Anything that anybody knows about my husband and me, we have told them. Whether they used it as ammo [or not], they heard everything from us. It was never a surprise.”
She spoke about staying with him after infidelity
Shortly after their marriage, Jelly Roll began a 10-month affair. Bunnie chose to stay with him.
“Everybody’s always quick to say, ‘Oh, I would have left,'” she said. “That’s easy to say. Was it wrong what he did? Absolutely. But I’m happy that situation happened because it was another catalyst in our fairy tale — of moving forward, of getting through, of learning how to choose each other.”
She believes that “real marriage” requires choosing your partner every day.
