Earlier this month, the former Olympian was a guest on Tomi Lahren’s podcast. During her lengthy discussion with the conservative media figure, Jenner mentioned that when she recently applied for a new passport, the one she received had her gender marked as “M” – the gender she was assigned at birth, which “screws everything up.”

“Today, documentation is extremely important. Every time you turn around, you gotta show ID, ID, ID,” Jenner said. “So somebody in my position, who has transitioned, I worked very, very hard. I worked with a law firm to make sure everything was changed from ‘M’ to ‘F,’ right down to my birth certificate.”

“All my documentation was right, my passport, my global entry — I traveled around the world,” she continued.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum said she tried to get the error corrected, to no avail.

“I did everything. And they sent it back, ‘M,’ they didn’t change it,” she said.

“What do I do?” she added. “This is a safety factor. I can’t travel internationally anymore. I can’t use my passport.”

Jenner noted that she didn’t personally blame Trump for the problem. “I love him,” she said. “But for a lot of people, this is huge issue.”

‘KUWTK’ alum reached out to Trump personally about her concerns

Jenner is far from the first transgender individual to encounter an issue with the Trump administration’s policy of requiring that the gender marker on a person’s passport match the one they were given at birth. Euphoria star Hunter Schafer has also said her passport now also lists her gender as “M.” But as a prominent supporter of the Republican party, Jenner has access to powerful decision makers. She told Lahren she attempted to leverage her connections to get her passport fixed.

“I was in Mar-a-Lago two months ago, [and] wrote a letter explaining all of this to [President Trump’, how it’s affecting me and a lot of other people,” she said.

“Unfortunately, he wasn’t there that weekend. The Secret Service guy said he could get it to him, put it on his desk and stuff,” she said. “I haven’t heard from him. He’s kind of busy right now. My gender marker is not big on the issue, OK? So, I get that, and I’m not blaming him whatsoever. I love the guy, and I love what he’s doing. But I’m trying to figure out right now what is the next step to try to figure this out. Because as we know, even to vote, you need proper identification.”

“I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Jenner added. “Because I don’t think this was really thought through … It’s not going to work.”
