Disney Reality Exec Unsure If Taylor Frankie Paul’s ‘Bachelorette’ Season Will Ever Air
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives fans looked forward to seeing Taylor Frankie Paul as the next star of The Bachelorette. Unfortunately, her season was canceled following a domestic violence controversy that surrounded the star. Days before her season’s premiere date, footage resurfaced that showed her in a domestic violence incident with her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. So, will ABC ever air Paul’s Bachelorette season? Disney reality TV boss Rob Mills just spoke out about all things Bachelor Nation.
Will fans ever see Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of ‘The Bachelorette’?
ABC/Disney pulled Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette following the release of footage that allegedly showed her in a violent altercation with her ex, Dakota Mortensen. At the same time as this footage, there were ongoing investigations and legal issues tied to Paul. ABC announced that the network would not air Paul’s season despite the previous excitement from fans.
“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” Disney stated, according to NBC News.
Paul’s spokesperson also mentioned that the Mormon Wives star was “very grateful for ABC’s support” during this time. “After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”
In April 2026, Rob Mills, the Executive Vice President of Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment at Walt Disney Television, spoke to Deadline about the situation that unfolded with Paul.
“The day all of that stuff happened, really our first sort of concern was really for Taylor and the family and everyone involved in that, it was really more on a human level,” he said. “Now, we’re sort of taking it a day at a time. I think her season is a wonderful season, by Bachelor standards. If it gets seen, I’m sure people will absolutely enjoy it.”
So, is there any chance of the season airing in the future? According to Mills, he hasn’t talked to Warner Bros. Television about the possibility.
“I think if there’s something that absolutely says very clearly, one way or the other, that points in that direction, you’ll know,” he said. “But right now, there’s really just nothing to say other than, it is a great season and I hope that, at some point, Bachelor Nation gets to see it.”
Mills does have good news for Bachelor Nation fans. He told Deadline that The Bachelor will return to ABC in 2027. Additionally, Bachelor in Paradise will return in the summer of 2027.
