‘DWTS’ Season 35 Star Maura Higgins Explained Why She Doesn’t Want to Star in ‘The Bachelorette’
In 2026, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, Taylor Frankie Paul, was set to take the stage as the lead of The Bachelorette. Unfortunately, while Paul went through with filming, ABC chose not to air the season. In light of this choice, Lisa Rinna thinks Irish reality TV star Maura Higgins is the next logical choice. Here’s what Higgins thinks.
Maura Higgins gave her reasons for not wanting to take over as the next star of ‘The Bachelorette’
Dancing With the Stars Season 35 has officially started announcing its contestants, and Irish reality star Maura Higgins made the cut. In 2019, Higgins attained fame from Love Island Season 5. She then went on to host Love Island spin-offs, as fans adored her personality and wanted to see more of her in the spotlight. Higgins also played The Traitors Season 4 with RHOBH alum Lisa Rinna. Now, Rinna thinks Higgins would be the perfect candidate to become the next star of The Bachelorette.
“I think she should be the Bachelorette,” Lisa exclusively told E! News at the CELSIUS’ Soccer Classic at Skyline Pitch in Los Angeles. And Rinna explained exactly why she’s pitching the reality TV star for the dating series.
“I think she should do everything, because she’s such good television,” Rinna continued. “She can do it all.”
So, would Higgins join the ABC dating show? “They asked me over there, and I was like, absolutely not,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “Guys, come on, I’m 35! Do you know what? I don’t want a man. I’m so happy. I don’t want anyone in my space. I like to come home to my beautiful, clean house. I don’t have to pick up their s***. I don’t want it.”
Higgins added that she doesn’t have time for The Bachelorette. “I need to get my trophy so I can pop it in my free Birkin,” she added.
