Paris Jackson has distanced herself from the biopic Michael about her father, Michael Jackson. When star Colman Domingo said Paris had been supportive of the film, she publicly refuted this. She also did not attend the film’s premiere. Paris has also pushed back against executors of her father’s estate, which backed the biopic. She accused them of bullying her for asking questions.

Paris Jackson spoke about her father Michael Jackson’s estate

Court documents obtained by TMZ found that Paris and her legal team accused executors John Branca and John McClain of filing court documents that “mock and belittle” her. Branca and McClain pushed back against this allegation, saying that Paris is spreading false information to the press.

Paris reportedly has concerns about how the estate is spending money.

“At nearly every hearing, and again in this filing, executors try to avoid the merits by characterizing Paris’ concerns as lawyer-driven or in service of some purported desire for media attention,” reads her new filing. “Neither is true.”

She added that Branca’s use of “the media to attack Michael Jackson’s daughter is unacceptable and is not mirrored by any concomitant effort by Paris.”

She also accused the executors of using “her father’s money to attack her in the media.” Paris believes they are attempting to bully her into going along with their wishes. The estate executors have denied this.

Paris Jackson also criticized the biopic about her father, which the estate backed

In 2025, Domingo, who plays Paris’ grandfather Joe Jackson, gave an interview with People Magazine. In it, he said Paris and her brother, Prince, were “very much in support of our film.” Paris publicly refuted this.

“[Colman], don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol. That is so weird,” she responded on her Instagram Story. “I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest [and] didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and godspeed.”

Neither Paris nor Janet Jackson reportedly approves of the film.

She said Colman Domingo reached out to her

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Domingo said his comments to People were taken out of context, which the outlet later confirmed. He messaged Paris on Instagram to explain, and she reacted to his message with a heart.

“I really appreciated the sentiment of it,” she later told Entertainment Tonight. “Because there’s lots of miscommunications, and things get twisted.”

Domingo noted that he hopes “she eventually loves the tribute that we made about her father.”
