Elton John Is ‘Furious’ and ‘Has Had Enough’ of Prince Harry After Duke Begged Him for Money
Soon after Prince Harry returned to the U.K. for the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, he learned that he did not win his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited, the publisher of the Daily Mail.
The Duke of Sussex, along with a few other high-profile people including Elizabeth Hurley and Sir Elton John, accused the publisher of violating their privacy over a 20-year period by using tactics such as phone hacking, landline tapping, and hiring private investigators to obtain confidential information like medical and financial records. However, a judge concluded that while the claimants had suspicions, they did not substantiate the allegations with hard evidence. They are now left with massive legal fees, and it’s being reported that Harry went to Elton John asking for money.
This information comes from royal reporter Paula Froelich, who claims that Sir Elton was not pleased about Harry asking for cash from him and stated, “I am not an ATM.” Another insider backed that up, saying, “Harry asked Elton to donate to Invictus Birmingham. Harry feels John brought him into this whole lawsuit and therefore should help him out with Invictus. But Elton is not a bank.”
Froelich wrote on her Substack, “I am told that Harry, facing a massive funding shortfall for Invictus, had stopped by Elton and his husband David Furnish’s place in the South of France to ask for money before arriving in London.
“Sir Elton, already aware that he would be on the hook for the majority of the legal bills should the claimants lose, was reportedly not interested in donating — especially as he knew he would be facing a massive payout in the event that his group would not win their claims.”
Froelick also told Sky News, “Harry has asked Elton to give him some money for Invictus. Elton has said no because this court case is such a big deal. He asked Elton before the judge came down with the ruling, but Elton saw where the wind was blowing. Elton and Harry assured everyone else they would take care of the fees, but Harry doesn’t have that money. Harry then stuck the knife in when he gave his statement to the press. It was rushed, hurried, and a huge tantrum.”
She noted that Harry “had accused Judge Matthew Nicklin of being ‘corrupt,’ describing it as a significant misstep given that the judge has the authority to determine the damages the claimants may be ordered to pay.
“[Harry] basically said that Justice Nicklin didn’t do his job properly. This is a huge problem because the judge can also decide what the damages are and if he can lift a cap. And that’s not happening until the end of July. Elton is said to be furious because this will likely cost Elton millions more.”
Following the ruling, Prince Harry and fellow claimant Baroness Doreen Lawrence released a joint statement calling the decision a “complete and obvious whitewash.” The Duke of Sussex could face up to $20 million in legal fees.
