A Below Deck Mediterranean star was arrested on domestic violence charges last year in Australia, according to a new report.

Nathan Gallagher was charged with “assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally chok[ing a] person without consent, and common assault,” Rolling Stone reports. The charges stemmed from a December 26 incident involving an unnamed 29-year-old woman at an apartment complex near Sydney.

While the victim was not named in the police report, Gallagher is named as the subject of an Apprehended Violence Application filed on behalf of fellow Below Deck star Gael Cameron. Cameron and Gallagher share a 1-year-old child. A hearing in that case is set for September 1.

Neither Gallagher nor Cameron responded to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.

Gael Cameron worried about and Nathan Gallagher’s ‘immaturity’ when they first started dating

Cameron and Gallagher met while filming Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9. Both were deckhands on the Mustique. Their connection was immediate, with Cameron telling Andy Cohen that they “got on like a house on fire straight away.” The pair started dating, but the relationship faltered once they left the boat as they struggled with distance (she’s from Australia, while he’s from Ireland) and other issues.

During an appearance on the Below Deck Med Aftershow in September 2024, Cameron questioned whether Gallagher was ready for a relationship.

“I think he just has a lot of emotional maturing to do. I definitely started to see a different side to him,” she said.

“Like when he would storm off when he was drinking? Like those kinds of things?” her Below Deck Med costar Aesha Scott asked.

“Yeah, like a little bit of anger and a little bit of of stubbornness, immaturity,” Cameron replied.

‘Below Deck Med’ stars welcomed a baby in 2025

Despite the challenges, Cameron and Gallagher soon rekindled their relationship, She announced she was expecting in April 2025. Their son Kayden was born in June.

Cameron and Gallagher’s romance and life as new parents was a storyline on Below Deck Med Season 10 and 11. In season 11, the couple struggled when Cameron relocated to Croatia with their baby so that she could be closer to Gallagher during his breaks from being on charter. But caring for an infant in an unfamiliar country put a lot of stress on the new mom. “I can’t handle anymore,” she told him at one point.

“I am feeling guilty,” Gallagher said in a confessional. “Like, Gael flew across the world with our son to support me. And I can see how moving away from her support network is affecting her.”
