Pop the champagne! Daniel Radcliffe had two big reasons to celebrate today.

On Tuesday morning, the Harry Potter star learned that he’d snagged his second Tony Award nomination. He’s in the running for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for his work in the one-person play Every Brilliant Thing. Radcliffe previously won a Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Musical in 2024 for Merrily We Roll Along.

The good news kept coming for Radcliffe, with NBC also announcing on May 5 that it had renewed the freshman comedy series The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins for season 2. Radcliffe stars opposite Tracy Morgan in the sitcom, which follows disgraced former football star Reggie Dinkins (Morgan) as he works with award-winning filmmaker Arthur Tobin (Radcliffe) to rehabilitate his image.

Radcliffe, who closely guards his privacy and does not have public social media, hasn’t commented on either his Tony nod or his NBC show’s renewal. But in a recent interview with Time, he said that he was grateful to have the freedom to pursue projects that he’s passionate about.

“There is a freedom and looseness in everything I’m choosing right now,” he said.

The Tony Awards air June 7 on CBS (and streaming on Paramount+) at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Season 1 of The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins is streaming on Peacock.
