‘Home Town: Inn This Together’: The Heirloom Hotel Isn’t Open After Devastating Fire, But You Can Help Them Rebuild
Home Town: Inn This Together didn’t end how anyone expected.
On Sunday, HGTV viewers watched as Home Town star Erin Napier fought back tears after the boutique, 40-room hotel she’d helped renovate burst into flames shortly after the project was completed. Erin and her husband Ben Napier worked on the hotel with Jim and Mallorie Rasberry and Josh Nowell, and their efforts to bring new life to the building in downtown Laurel, Mississippi, were chronicled on the new HGTV series.
‘Beautiful things’ come from the ashes of The Heirloom Hotel
After the episode aired on May 31, The Heirloom Hotel team shared an update on their Facebook page.
“So many have asked how you can support us! Help us rebuild, one piece of The Heirloom Hotel at a time by purchasing a piece of it that’s been repurposed just for you,” read the post, which also noted that most of building was not salvageable after fire. However, they were able to repurpose the damaged floors.
“A way we could bring these floors one more life, was for our team to make them into these photo rails for your home or any space that you want to display your cherished images or even heirloom recipes,” they shared. “It makes us feel encouraged as we look at these, that no matter how damaged—beautiful things can still come from the ashes.”
“We build because of the people we’re building for and we hope you will too,” they added.
The photo rails cost $29.99 and are available for purchase at the Laurel Mercantile website.
Erin Napier calls out Liberty Mutual
Meanwhile, the Inn This Together team is fighting to move forward and rebuild the hotel, which was located in a space that had once been a department store. But the process has been challenging. In an Instagram post, Erin said they are still waiting for an insurance payout.
“Last nights episode was bittersweet,” she wrote. “Our friends worked so unbelievably hard, and we have never been more proud to be their friends. The fire shocked everyone. It has felt like a death of a loved one in the community. It has been nearly a year since the fire, and our friends are STILL waiting on @libertymutual to complete the claim. We don’t know what the future holds, but we know God holds us. Thanks for watching the biggest thing to happen in downtown Laurel in a long time.”
Home Town: Inn This Together is streaming on HBO Max.
