Is a Brand New ‘Jersey Shore’ Show Being Filmed?
Jersey Shore fans just said goodbye to the original cast, with a farewell season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. While the “gym, tan, laundry” antics of the original cast might be over, the show’s concept doesn’t appear done for good. Shortly after the season wrapped, chatter about what would come next picked up, and one fan theory appears to be moving forward. A whole new generation of shore-goers could eventually grace screens everywhere. Some original cast members don’t seem happy about it, though.
Where the new ‘Jersey Shore’ rumors are coming from
In early 2026, MTV announced the final season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Fans weren’t too concerned; MTV has called it quits on the series more than once, only to return with spin-offs, follow-ups, and specials all focused around the original cast. Rumors that there was more to come began to swirl instantly.

The rumors had actual evidence to back it up. In 2022, Deadline confirmed MTV was developing a reboot of the series with a new cast, but the concept never made it to production. MTV never confirmed plans to bring new cast members to the shore. It is unclear why the developing series was dropped, but several insiders claimed that original cast members objected to the idea. Allegedly, MTV caved to the pressure.
Now that the series is over, though, a new show is reportedly in development, this time at Netflix. Deadline was the first to report that planned series in July. This month, DeuxMoi reported the show is already being filmed with a cast of much younger shore-goers in Manasquan, New Jersey, a shore town about 30 minutes from Seaside Heights. SallyAnn Salsano, the creative force behind the original, is reportedly at the helm again.
Angelina Pivarnick seems pretty angry about it all
While some cast members seem ready to hang up their party hats and get on with their private lives, one Jersey Shore alum is absolutely not. Around the same time that the rumors began to intensify, Angelina Pivarnick took to social media to “demand” answers, suggesting that there was an ongoing issue between the cast and the production company. She went on to insist that “A LOT” was happening behind the scenes, though she declined to confirm the reboot.
Angelina, unlike most other cast members, has cycled in and out of the series over the years. She appeared in the first season before departing the shore house early after refusing to work a shift at the t-shirt shop. She was brought back for season 2, but left again when the rest of the cast failed to welcome her with open arms. Her departure made room for Deena Cortese to enter the following season. Angelina did not appear on the show again until 2018, when she reprised her role in Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
