‘Jersey Shore’ Cast Blindsided By MTV’s Cancellation Decision, Jenni ‘JWOWW’ Farley Says
The Jersey Shore fam was not prepared for the party to end.
Back in March, MTV confirmed that Jersey Shore Family Vacation Season 9 would be the last for the popular reality series. But according to one of the show’s stars, the network hadn’t bothered to tell the cast that their run was over.
“You want the tea? We didn’t know,” Jenni “JWOWW” Farley said in a new interview with Skeery Jones from Z100 New York.

Farley – who has been a fixture on MTV since Jersey Shore premiered in 2009 – said that she and the rest of the cast filmed different interview segments for season 9, not knowing which would be used in the final edit.
“We ended up, in interview, cutting three different ways, right?” she explained. “We cut it continuing the show, like, not saying a goodbye [but rather a] ‘see you later.’ [We did] an undetermined one, and then a goodbye, which made me sob like a maniac,” she said.
“But when we show the show, we had no intention of it being, like, ‘a goodbye season,’” she added.

Farley went on to say that she suspected that the merger of MTV’s parent company, Paramount, with Warner Bros. Discovery, was to blame for the show’s cancellation. But she believes that the Jersey Shore crew might be back on TV.
“We have faith. Like, between Paramount+ and Hulu, it’s not over,’ she said.
According to Farley, she and the rest of the cast are in active conversations with the show’s producers about next steps.
“We are all like, ‘What’s happening? What’s the update? What are the ratings? Where are we going? Who does Ronnie [Ortiz-Magro] have to hook up with to make this happen?’”
Immediately after MTV revealed that Jersey Shore Family Vacation was canceled, the show’s stars also spoke up to reassure fans that they were not stepping out of the spotlight.
“Legends don’t retire — they reroute,” Ortiz-Magro, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Deena Cortese, Angelina Pivarnick, and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola wrote in a joint Instagram post. “The network changed. The legacy didn’t. Jersey Shore is forever. Just wait until you see what’s next.”
In the meantime, at least one Jersey Shore star has a new TV project in the works. Polizzi is currently filming a ghost-hunting series called Snooki: Paranormal Rookie for Crave in Canada.
Jersey Shore Family Vacation airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
