Kylie Jenner’s Reaction to Timothée Chalamet’s Emotional Celebration After Knicks Win Says Everything About Their Relationship

After the New York Knicks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers to advance to the 2025-26 NBA Finals, no one seemed more elated than Timothée Chalamet. And even though his partner, Kylie Jenner, doesn’t have that level of fandom for his beloved team, an expert says the way she reacted to the actor’s celebration tells us all we need to know about their relationship.

Speaking on behalf of Covers, Stanton told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Timothée is showing completely unfiltered celebration energy here. Despite being such a huge star, all of that went out the window at that moment. He was simply being himself, with no sense of performing for the cameras. It’s refreshing to see them displaying such pure emotion.

“The jumping up and down is another way of expelling excess energy and adrenaline, and it highlights just how much of a genuine fan Timothée is. When Timothée covers his mouth while celebrating after the game, that’s a sign of emotional flooding. Covering the mouth is often a subconscious gesture people use when they’re feeling overwhelmed in the moment.”

Stanton added, “When they were jumping up and down together, Kylie was fully engaging in his excitement, even if Timothée is the bigger fan of the two … They were also very comfortable displaying affection publicly and didn’t seem concerned about who was watching.”

Fellow body language, Inbaal Honigman, agreed with Stanton’s assessment.

Speaking on behalf of Casino.org CA, Honigman told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “When Chalamet is seen celebrating, he is truly excited. His enthusiasm knows no bounds, which is shown in his body language and in his facial expressions. Kylie is celebrating too, but with a lot less conviction. She’s happy to see her man happy, but she doesn’t quite get what it’s all about. Kylie is supporting Timothee, but she’s less connected to the basketball win.

“Timothée’s reactions are effervescent. He holds his fist to his mouth as if trying to hold back a flood of emotions. Timothee smiles with his full face, cheeks raised so high that they’re squeezing his eyes shut, and eyebrows turned upwards in an expression of gratitude. He turns his face all the way up as if thanking the heavens. His joy is palpable. The award-winning actor welcomes a supportive Kylie into his arms, circling her waist and cuddling her tightly for a moment, then patting her on the bum with gratitude, thankful for her congratulations.”

And according to Stanton, seeing how genuinely “happy” Jenner was for her man shows they have a very strong and emotionally aligned relationship.

“Timothée is clearly caught up in the excitement of the environment and the game itself. While [Kylie] may not be as invested in basketball, she’s clearly happy seeing him happy and is enjoying the excitement alongside him.”
